Hi ladies,
I have scoured through every single board online for some help but mines an absolute doosy!
Last Monday I shouldve been 6w2d, hcg at 4560. Had an early dating scan abdominally and internally and found nothing in the tubes and uterus, not even a sack!
Convinced I was loosing my baby, 6 days later went to the hospital after a slight pain (pain maybe 1/10) on my right side (which has now subsided), stayed in hospital for the whole weekend. I had a repeat US today, again nothing to be seen anywhere and hcgs have risen to the 10,000s!
I have had no bleeding or spotting, no extreme pain apart from the odd twinge and my pregnancy symptoms are still present. My periods are also like clockwork and run on a 28 day cycle.
Drs are doing repeat bloods tomorrow, and another visit to the dr.
Had anybody heard of anything like this happening before? Where on earth is this baby if my levels are rising nicely?
Just having no diagnosis is absolutely breaking me..
Re: *UPDATE IN COMMENTS - Loss :( )7 weeks, 10,000shcg, no sac! Drs are confused!
when did you get your first positive hpt? My only guess would be that you ovulated later and aren't really 7wks, so there's nothing to see yet.
Kiddo #1 = 10 cycles of trying, 1 CP and is now a toddler
PumpkinTi my LMP was 2nd May, got a faint BFP on the 26th May (4 days before AF due). Confirmed pregnancy via blood test on the 28th with hcg at 56.
Possible I couldve ovulated earlier and i couldve caught the pregnancy really early.
Regardless if my dates were off, by now with those hcgs and being that far along (4 weeks since bfp) they should be able to see something at least!
Most doctors don't admit people to the hospital for a miscarriage when there is no evidence a miscarriage is happening. I'm a nurse and I have had a miscarriage. I was never admitted to the hospital. The only time a patient experiencing a miscarriage is admitted is if there is a complication and the patient requires extra monitoring.

I never said I was admitted into a ward, only visited emergency - when I said i was in hospital all weekend I meant Sat 9am-4pm Sunday 830am-3pm waiting on results and seeing the doctor. The results were taking a while to come back and emergency was busy being a weekend.
I hope that clarifies things for you. Apart from that, have you got anything constructive you would like to add apart from criticise and add salt to the already painful wound I am experiencing?
Ive come back from the dr, hcg has only risen by 800 in 48 hours.
They have diagnosed it as a Pregnancy of an Unknown Location and suspects i should begin miscarrying shortly.
I have another appt Monday week for another blood test to see if hcgs have begun to drop.
Thanks for your support. I am absolutely heartbroken. Also frustrated at how there is nothing i can do to speed up the miscarriage and start trying again.
Btw Bethechangekaren yes i did have the internal ultrasound too.

I'm sorry I don't really understand what's going on, but I'm worried that if it is a possible missed tubal ectopic that it could be dangerous to just wait it out. I thought it was very difficult to locate tubal pregnancies via ultrasound?
I'm also sorry that you got some comments here that sounded anything but supportive and sympathetic. For the most part I've thought this group had been better than my previous experiences with the bump.

I had an internal scan twice where ovaries and tubes were checked and they look fine.
The drs have said quite posdibly the pregnancy had never developed and my hcgs were slow to rise in the beginning (only 10000 for 7 weeks is quite low). The other possibility is that my body had absorbed any signs of pregnancy earlier on, and my body is just taking a while to catch up.
I asked about d&c and the dr said it will only clear the uterus and that's my problem - its not in the uterus. The dr also said that if they can see it in the tubes/ovaries then they'll offer the shot. However if hcg levels are dropping then to let nature take its course.
I don't go here, but i'm jumping on this hard, because in fact, people DO get kept in hospital when they miscarry, maybe not everyone, but some! I have miscarried 3 times, not once was I considered any kind of risk, but it is possible to hemorrhage with a MC too. My last miscarriage was after my first round of ivf, I refused to stay that time, but the nurses tried for 30 minutes to talk me into staying just to be monitored.
So in fact, what you said was totally uncalled for. The poor woman is going through something emotionally devastating, and you provided NO support and NO words of comfort!
@rdez I'm so sorry you're going through this, but I agree with PP about it possibly being a missed ectopic, and i implore you to get a second opinion because ectopics can be life threatening, i'm not saying this to scare you, i'm saying it simply for your own health. Whatever happens you are in my thoughts.

First Ultrasound: 6/25, heard the heartbeat!
You don't care? Are you serious? I'm going to let you in on a little secret, i've been around longer than my account would suggest, you can think of me as one of those 'bad apples' from before the mass exodus, and i'll tell you honestly, with an attitude like that, you won't get very far here!
As for your medical background, it does not make you an expert, you're choosing to ignore actual facts from people it has happened to before, it's making you look foolish, and please, stop mentioning in every post that you are a pediatric nurse, not only do we get it, it's just sounding like you mention it because you think you're above everyone else now!
Not nice to judge that way.
@rdez wishing you the best luck!
Oh yay! Does that mean you're leaving us now?

For those concerned I have been booked in for another ultrasound next Tuesday (internal too) to completely rule out ectopic, although the last 2 US's from 2 different providers have given me the all clear. We just need to make sure.
I know this isn't necessary as I don't need to prove myself, but to prove a point and make PedsIsHardcore realise their wrongdoings ive attached a pic written from my doctor on my pathology request form which states 'pregnancy of an unknown location'.
So with that, PedsIsHardcore, learn a bit of empathy and compassion - not everyone on the internet is a troll and there are some (and their families) who are genuinely grieving through this time. You have no idea what my husband and I are going through and your comments are hurtful. Please be more mindful next time you post - i would hate to see you, or anyone else, in my position.
I'm so sorry for your loss OP. Big internet hugs to you.
And it's even more frightening that, based on your user name, you're apparently working with kids and their families....
Hope u get better soon
Just a suggestion - maybe u should seek another opinion from another doc if u feel like u aren't getting any answers
I'm not familiar with the American Heathcare system so I don't know if it's an option - but u could try
