Hi multiples mommas! Need some advice/ideas for my 9 wo twins. First, the "sleep when they sleep" is impossible right now. They still wake up every 3 hours to feed like clockwork (thanks NICU) and after, one is always inevitably awake. They take turns, though! So for 1.5-2 hours after each feeding, I always have at least one baby awake and needing attention. Help! They feed simultaneously but sleeping simultaneously has not been their thing for over a week now.
Next, now that they are awake and alert way more, I need ideas on what to do with them. I want to stimulate their little minds but also have stuff I need to accomplish! We do tummy time, twin time (they stare at each other and babble), read books, play with rattles (well, I shake them near them) and do stretches and generally chatter with/at them. Unfortunately, they are both still on oxygen so wearing them or other activites that require a lot of mobility aren't really an option.
TIA!
Re: What to do with alert 9 week-olds?
As far as activities go - kiddos love the little play mats/mobiles around that age. Turn on music. Give them the little soft taggy blankets to feel and move around. Prop them up in boppies and let them watch you while you do stuff around the house. My husband used to do this and play the guitar for them.
