Trouble TTC

Clomid and cycle length?

Hello Ladies.

I am on my first round of Clomid (50 mg)  after TTC for almost 3 years. I have a longer cycle length (37-41 days). Have any of you found that Clomid affects your cycle length one way or the other? I plan on using OPKs once I get closer to the time I would expect to ovulate - but I don't want to miss my LH surge by not testing early enough.

Thank you.

Re: Clomid and cycle length?

  • Hi and welcome back! If you haven't already, please read our 'New Visitor" post at the top of the board, since it has been a while...

Clomid tends to shorten cycles for those who tend to have very long cycles - at least that's what I have seen. GL

Married for 7 years, TTC for 4 years
    dx:  Diminished Ovarian Reserve
    2 Clomid IUI's + 4 injectable IUI's= 5 BFNs and 1 mc

  • Hi @yycmama, I just finished my first round of clomid and my cycle was 29 days, whereas normally, even if I do ovulate on my own, they are over 35 days. I didn't use opks but based on bbt think I ovulated around cd18.
I'm sure everyone's experience is different, but that was mine.
