Internal scan

Hi everyone I'm fairly new to this and looking for a bit if advice. I had a miscarrige at 7 weeks last year and have just found out I am 6 weeks pregnant!! Over the moon but very anxious at the same time. My midwife has booked my in 4 a scan next week and said it could poss be an internal scan as they may get a heartbeat through tummy wondering if anyone else has had this? Xx

  • I had one this week actually at 5 weeks 5 days. It was too early to see a heartbeat yet for me, but you can find the heartbeat a lot earlier with the internal scans.

  • Thank you for your reply hopefully everything goes well this time round x
  • Dating scans and early U/S are usually transvaginal. Uncomfortable, but totally normal.

  • Yes am hoping they find a heart beat this time no matter how they have 2 get it lol x
  • Just like the others said, transvaginal ultrasounds are super normal (here at least). Ive had many done, and don't really find them to be uncomfortable. GL! :)

For me, it was more mentally uncomfortable than physically uncomfortable. Little did I know how much time people would be spending time around my nether regions in the coming months...

Had them in the past for ovary issues. And had one this past weekend for baby, got a heartbeat. I don't find they hurt or are uncomfortable either.
  • I was worried about this too but it was hundred times better than I thought it would be. Got my front covered with a towel and I swear my doc didn't even look when she popped the scanner up :'D really small probe so wasn't uncomfortable just a bit of a weird sensation. Good luck, hope you get to see your little bean and heartbeat x
