Trying to Get Pregnant

Smep success Stories??

hi ladies,

This month was my first month trying the smep. My husband and I have been ttc for 20 months with no luck. We have got all our testing done and they are perfect. We have been told by the doctor that we have unexplained infertility. Hoping that the past 20 months have just been a timing issue.

Anyone have any luck with the smep??

Re: Smep success Stories??

  • I'm sorry, but if have been having unprotected sex for 20 months, your chances are small that you will conceive without medical intervention.

Besides, charting your temps is a much more reliable way to make sure you hit your fertile window. And requires less sex.
    My TTC History:
    2009: missed miscarriage #1 at 9 weeks (trisomy 16)
    2010: Infertility
2011: Diagnosis and treatment (low sperm count, anastrozole for DH, clomid for me + IUI)
    2012: Baby #1
    2014: Baby #2
October 2015: missed miscarriage #2 at 11 weeks (trisomy 22)
    March 2016 BFP#5, due November 2016.

  • Is your doctor doing things to help you get knocked up?  I know you said it's unexplained. but an RE should still be doing things to help??  And charting is the only way to confirm ovulation. Is the "doctor" an OB or a RE??

Assuming that is SMEP. Seems like it would be better to chart so you can actually know if you ovulated. Seems like that is only part of a good plan. If your doctor tested you all for problems, but didn't have you chart to confirm ovulation, you wouldn't have the full story. That's my unprofessional opinion.

  • We have tried SMEP 3 times so far with OPK. Obviously so far unsuccessful. DH is away on business so we can't do it this month but this is the first month I am temping in addition to OPK's
  • I don't know what this is or means but it sounds like the name of an illness.

    Nope.
