after 4 miscarriages just found out I have abnormally high NK cells

Have any of you ladies had to deal with NK cells being the cause of multiple miscarriages.    I have had 4 (2 pgd and pgs) tested embryos lost at 6 to 6 l/2 weeks......heartbeat detected twice.....and still miscarried.....Had testing done at Sher Institute and came back very high NK cells.     Will talk to my RE here who doesn't believe in this and decide what I want to pursue.....Any advice or help would be appreciated.    Thanks

    No experience, but you may want to try posting on the IF vets board.

    Me:     30, DH: 32
    My hx:  uterus/hormones normal Dx: low AMH 0.5 = poor ovarian reserve
    hubby hx: low sperm count, poor motility, started on clomid, retest in May showed no improvement, will be on clomid another 3 months, another retest scheduled for August

    Started IVF #1:  ~BFP Mentioned~
    • ER (Thursday April 17th, 3 precious eggs).
    • April 18th: Received news 2 out of 3 eggs fertilized!
    •  Planned 3dt: Easter day, transferred two 8B embryos and received pictures :)
    • BFP starting 8dp3dt 5/1 Beta #1: 87, 5/3 Beta #2 206 
    • 5/19 Heartbeat 123bpm
    • EDD 1/8/15

    I don't doubt that high NK may be correlated with RPL, but I do doubt that it is a cause (for most; it may be for some). For example, significantly more RPL patients are depressed, but I believe (that for the most part) the RPL caused the depression, not the other way around. And of course stress and depression wrecks havoc on the immune system. I readily find a study that supports my intuition "The increased NK number and activity previously observed in RM [RPL] patients may result from a transient stress response [...]. Women with RM had elevated levels in all three NK indices in the first blood sample, but these levels declined to values similar to those seen in the controls [no RPL]." That said, an online friend had numerous failed IVFs and PLs - she is now pregnant with twins using mini-IVF with iVIG support (which her RE didn't recommend). If this is a key for you, go open that door!!! Personally, I would remain skeptical but look to improve my health and coping to lower NK (or simply let time pass as the study indicates).

    I've had 4 m/c (possible a 5th recently)... but never had my NK cells tested.  You'll want to look into an RI... luvboston should have some good info for you.  But you'll need to work with an RE that will be willing to work with an RI even if they don't believe in the immunology part of it.

    4/28/11 IUI#1 = BFP!(5/25), EDD 2/2/12 - m/c 5w3d
    7/3, 7/31, 9/25 - IUI#2-4=BFN
    IVF#1 - 1 blast = BFP!! (12/30), EDD 9/9/12, confirmed c/p 4w2d
    FET#1 3/2/12 - 2 blasts =BFP!! EDD 11/18/12, us#1 = twins! Confirmed m/c 5w6d
    4/20-surprise BFP and another c/p 4w2d
    FET#2 7/16/12 - 2 blasts = BFN

    also for me... I think I had a compounding gluten issue as going gluten free correlated with my getting a sticky BFP.  I had testing that also indicated a possible gluten issue I should add.
