we had a plan to do a camping trip in tents with us and the whole family. But since I will be 8 weeks pregnant I am not sure if that's a good idea? We will be tenting and driving a lot.
What do you think? Anyone done this in early pregnancy?
Why wouldn't it be a good idea? What are your hesitations? You may be pregnant bit there is very little that you need to abstain from. The baby is well protected, nor that camping is by any means physical
THere is no reason to skip it. We go camping all the time. 8 weeks is going to easier than 8 months (which I have done) or with an 8 week old. You are pregnant but you can still do things you did prior to becoming pregnant.
I plan on tenting the whole 4th of July weekend and by then I'll be right at 8 weeks. The hubs and I have a very nice air mattress, and there is a bathroom near by. I have zero hesitations about it, and I actually can't wait!
I accidentally went parasailing while early pregnant. If I can do that, you can go camping! My advice is bring lots of water and crackers (just in case) and take naps if you feel tired
I have been hiking and camping my entire pregnancy and I am now 35 weeks and going again this weekend (provided it doesn't storm). Stay hydrated and don't push yourself too hard. Like others have said, you're pregnant, not broken. You can still enjoy normal activities. Baby is well protected in there.

You are pregnant, not made of glass. I know women who've camped at 39 weeks pregnant. Go if you want to go.
I would 100% skip it - no questions asked. Not because of pregnancy, but bBut because I hate camping and hate the outdoors and refuse to do it. Nothing to do with being pregnant. I'm not pregnant and still won't go.
We love camping and we know once we have a little one it'll be a little difficult (we camped once and there was a crying baby and I could tell the mom was uncomfortable as well as the people on the campground since everyone could hear her). So you might as well do it now!
We're going cabin camping in July but I would like to get in a tent camping excursion before then as well.
I'm going camping this weekend and I'm almost 12 weeks. My husband is concerned about it but I don't think there's anything to be worried about. One of the nurses at my OBs office said that it was perfectly fine to go as long as I wasn't planning on climbing up any mountains. I don't see why it would be an issue. The baby is safe in there.
You should go I'm dealing with my dad wanting to baby me and my husband showing "tough love". As long as you're comfortable, you should be fine. I'm 12 weeks and I'd go with no hesitation. I'd just take extra pillows for more comfort. Then make sure you have plenty of water and lots of healthy snacks We'll be traveling by car for about 8 hours next month and the only thing my NP recommended was stopping every so often at rest stops to stretch and a bathroom break and taking plenty of fluid and (healthy) snacks. Which I'm usually hungry so a little emphasis on the "lots of healthy snacks" lol I'm talking maybe a half hour after eating a bigger meal and I'm hungry again.
I'm 9 weeks tomorrow, and I'm tired all day. The good thing about camping in my experience is that it's filled with lazy days so I don't think I'd mind going. Oh, and being near a toilet might help!
