This is my first pregnancy and im going to the beach next month. I'm 30 weeks pregnant and self conscious of my baby bump being shown on the beach. I guess I just need alittle confidence boost, how does everyone feel about their bump on the beach?
I don't have any issues with it, and I'm carrying really big. As in, people keep asking me if I'll be stopping work soon, and I'm only 25 weeks.
I just figure it's obviously a pregnant belly, and really it's not that big a deal. In the same way my arms, legs and breasts aren't that big a deal.
Having said that, I don't wear a bikini, I wear a full swimswuit, because my belly is stretch marky, and I don't think that's attractive, but I wouldn't think less of someone who did have stretch marks on show.
Perhaps you could wear a throw over or thin cotton "cardigan" (I cannot for the life of me think of the name of the article of clothing I'm thinking of)...but basically something beachy that you would feel covered up in when you're not swimming.
I think pregnancy is beautiful, and should be embraced, but if you feel self-conscious then wear whatever makes you feel more comfortable.
I've gone to the beach already this month. Bikini and preggo belly out in full effect. I am proud I'm pregnant and growing a baby is Something to be proud of. Who gives two ***** what others say. Enjoy yourself, your bump, and the beach!
One word of advice reapply sunblock twice as often as you would normally. I find I sweat more and am more sensitive to the sun while pregnant.
Oooh, lucky you! I would absolutely LOVE to go to the beach!!! I have been craving a trip for a while now. Sad thing is I live in Arizona and the closest beach is 5 hours away.
I've gone swimming weekly (indoor pool) with this PG. With DS2, we went to the beach a month before my EDD. My normal style is to wear a rashguard over my swimsuit top anyway, so I just kept that up. Being PG didn't phase me. It's a pretty normal part of life.
I went to the beach last week and had a blast. I actually felt cuter than I normally do because you can tell my belly is baby not fat. Lol. Mind you, I wear one piece swimsuits.
We go frequently and this is my third pregnancy. I've been obviously pregnant in the summer with all three and never thought twice about going. Make sure you bring extra sunscreen since you will likely be more sensitive to the sun and lots of drinks and have fun.
I haven't gone to the beach but I have done the water park and the pool. I got a maternity bikini and wear that, with my bump all out there. I love the water and am not a fan of 1 piece suits
Thanks for all the replies. I went out to my mother in laws pool today with my close friend with my belly out and I felt weird but I got alittle more comfortable with it. I'm not into 1 piece bathing suits I've tried them on and never liked them. I guess always being a 00 and only alittle over 100 pounds to being 135 with a belly is just a big change for me and im not used to it. Thanks for all the tips tho, greatly appreciated! I'm getting more and more excited for the beach as the time comes around
I love being the preggo at the beach. I've gone several times this pregnancy and I love it. I wear my bikini - the top still fits and the bottom goes under my belly.
I went to the beach at about 34 weeks and wore shorts and a tank top (I didn't have intentions on going in the ocean) I was in the ocean maybe 30 min total. But no one stared or asked questions
I'm 30 weeks right now and rock a string bikini every time I go to the pool, We're making a humans we have bigger things to worry about than what other people think of our bellies. Wear what you want to wear it's all about you and your comfort
I have never worn a bikini but I vowed that the next time I got pregnant I would wear a bikini for the first time and sure enough I bought one. I haven't been able to go swimming but I will be debuting it on Monday. Nobody will be a harsher critic than yourself in the end what matters is comfort. Rock that baby bump with pride.
No differently than any other day. I have cut swimsuits and I go about my business frolicking with my boy. Maybe getting a new swimsuit will help with your confidence? I got a cute one-piece from target and a bikini from VS. Both hold my big DDD titties at bay flatter my new figure perfectly. Fit is your friend. If you still feel weird about showing so much skin get a cover-up in a fun print. Trust me no one will care. If anything everyone will probably think you and your belly are cute.
I live at the beach so I had to get over this really quick! I'm carrying very small so for a while it seemed like I just needed to stop snacking now that I'm finally showing a bump it's easier. In the beginning I told myself to get over it because I would never see these people again!
