My son was born 3/21 and is still eating every two hours and sometimes 2.5 hours at night. I hear that a lot of babies at 11weeks are at least on a four hour schedule... Anyone else still on the two hour schedule??!! Also, I'm breastfeeding and supplementing with 1 bottle a day. He's still on the 2hour schedule even after the formula feeding, It doesn't make a difference.
Re: Still on 2hr feeding schedule
I don't have any advice, other than maybe give another ounce on the formula bottle if its the last one before bed? I've been blessed with 2 kids who have been, so far, amazing sleepers.
Good luck!! Hopefully you'll get some sleep soon.
Try this during the day too. Making sure he isn't distracted during day time nursing will help fill that belly as well. . More often nursing during the day isn't bad if it helps them sleep longer at night! So I wouldn't worry about daytime feeding so much as stretching out those nighttime ones . I would nurse every two hours no problem if it meant a nice long night sleep! Haha
Thank you for the advice of wake him up for a diaper change then feeding again!! I normally would change then feed then lay him down but feed change then feed again has helped a ton!! He's now sleeping from 10-3 yay 5hours straight now!!! He's still at every 2-3hrs after that but we're getting there!!
He's about 12lbs 3ounces. When I supplement with a bottle he eats about 3ounces. He has reflux as well and the pediatrician put him on Zantac 2ml 2x since he's was 10lbs (started out as 1.25ml when he was 8lbs 2x a day). The Zantac has helped tremendously, he's much happier during & after feelings but still spitting up a ton however no more discomfort and pain!! I no longer lay him down in his bassinet which is a flat surface and instead he's been sleeping in the bassinet attached to his pack and play which helps bc it has a bit of an incline. I also bought a wedge for his crib to put under his mattress cover when it's time to sleep in there.
Just recently in the last couple days he's been sleeping 10-3 then on 2-3hr schedule until 9am.
I've now been using Johnson lavender bedtime lotion before bed, reading bedtime story, feed diaper change then feed again ( which one of the moms suggested), started swaddling again (but turned my bedroom temp to make a little cooler since we live in FL) and also started using a white noise machine on a 45 minute timer during second feeding and then laying him down while the white noise is still going. All of these things combined have helped a ton!! I highly recommend the white noise machine, it works like a charm especially when he's restless during the day and it's time for a nap!!
We use white noise too , just leave it running constantly . I've gotten used to sleeping with it too now. It's kinda nice haha.
