Low dose Clomid side effects

I was put on 25mg of Clomid this cycle. ?I am on cycle day 16 and I am so emotional that I cried at the Biggest Loser the other night. ?I'm not a crier. ? I am tearing up just reading these other posts. I just feel down. ?Plus I feel sick to my stomach all of a sudden. ?I thought I was gonna be lucky, with no side effects since the symptoms didn't start until a few days ago, guess not. :-(

My question is did anyone else get this emotional on such a low dose? ?My doc offered Femera for next time if Clomid didn't work. ?Is Femera that much better for the side effects?

It's amazing that 5 little pills can turn you in to a basket case for a month.

Thanks?

Re: Low dose Clomid side effects

  • I had a super high dose so I can only say that I had those S/E and more. Clomid is the devil when it comes to messing with you.

I can't help you with the Femera question because I was never on it.

  • I don't think I was aware that clomid came in 25mg dose.   Interesting.

  • He told me to take half 50mg pill. ?I already ovulate, he just wanted to make me ovulate sooner and stronger or something like that. ?It hasn't worked yet though.
  • I just did femara this cycle and absolutely no side effects, plus it helps suppress my endo.  I didn't get lots of big follies...lots of follies but only 1 likely was mature.  I would switch if they offer it because I had the clomid craziness no matter the dosage.  I hated it.
  • Hey I noticed after I posted...femara is also known to help suppress endo (which is the reason I'm on it).  Since you had endo, I'd definitely ask for it!  Just make sure you've got a BFN first since taking femara during a pregnancy can up risk of birth defects.  Nothing has noted any rise in birth defects when taken before you're peggo though.
  • Check your insurance before switching to Femara. It is actually a drug used for cancer patients and I paid a lot more for it than clomid (like $90 bucks)

    (That's almost 10 bucks a pill)

  • Wow....mine was only $25 for the copay and my insurance covers no infertility at all.  I assume because I have the endo they allowed it.  Insurance companies make no sense whatsoever.
