I've tried pretty much everything. I'm 38 weeks 4 days, baby is measuring at 40w3d. I've tried walking, even walked target lol. Nipple stimulation, pumping (only bc I'm leaking like crazy) sex, pineapples ect. I even did castor oil as instructed by my Fil who is an Obgyn. Nothing. I'm pretty sure she will just come when she wants. It's storming here now and everyone keeps checking on me because of the pressure myth.

I think I speak for the curiosity in all of us when I ask, did the castor oil make you sh** your brains out?!?
No I had a upset stomach but I only ate really light foods that day knowing I was taking it.

When your body and baby is ready.. It will happen
  • If anyone finds anything that works other than what I have tried, tell me. I am 38w 3d and he's measuring extra big, 45 weeks in the head and about 41 weeks everywhere else. He probably weighs about 9 or 10 pounds (husband was an 11 lb baby) really not looking forward to pushing this kid out at 40+ weeks

Another anecdotal tip: I had my lip waxed the night before my water broke.

Already did that last week along with my eyebrows... Didn't work :(

I'm going to target *again* tomorrow, so maybe there's hope ?
  • Acupuncture. Got it Wednesday evening. That night stayed feeling different. Water broke Friday morning at 530am.
  • Where can i buy red raspberry leaf tea??
  • Where can i buy red raspberry leaf tea??

    I ordered some from Amazon.
  • Where can i buy red raspberry leaf tea??

I found pregnancy tea at Kroger. It isn't pure RRL tea but a blend.

I did as well...however I made the mistake of order 16 packs. I thought it meant 16 tea bags, not 16 boxes. Fail :(

  • Thank you everyone :)!!

Omg, all these "sex" responses....I wish! We tried last week and it was just awful! Painful and uncomfortable for me, not to mention could hardly breath and felt nauseous with all the movement lol and he would get discouraged to because of how cruddy I felt so we just gave up lol.
I am 38w1d and I started the EPO orally and vaginally yesterday...btw, talk about a weird feeling laying in bed and feeling that ooze out randomly throughout the night haha, but if it might work I'm willing to try lol.
my appointment last week I was nothing, no dialation, no thinning, NOTHING, ugh! But he thinks she's going to be a big baby so he is inducing on the 21st if she doesn't come before then
  • Don't know that it's a good plan... But I was up until midnight the night before with a toddler that was cranky tired but wouldn't sleep. Then my husband and I got into a disagreement about DS1's behavior and I cried myself to sleep. Woke up at 6 AM with contractions... So... Crying yourself to sleep = labor? Who knows. But I do remember reading an article out there somewhere that mentioned "a good cry"... Something about the emotional release allowing your body to calm down and do its thing? *shruggs*
  • I've been super emotional for the past few days. Commercials make me cry, like the one where an ice skating girl grows up to be a woman and then it shows her pregnant for a second and then she has a daughter with her ice skating. So many tears it's ridiculous. It's not even sad. So maybe it's a good sign my body will go into labor with help of all these tears!

I read this blog this morning on pinterest. Woman had 40 suggestions for inducing labor. Here was my absolute favorite..... Rub your belly in a circle clockwise for 1 min. Do lunges for 3 minutes and repeat. Yep...... That should do it folks?!?! Lol
    Lunges?  Ha!

I cry all the time and nothing has happened.  I'm broken.  My body just doesn't work.
  • Take Zantac and pray?

I mentioned before that I started EPO on sunday, and the Tuesday before that the doc said I was nothing...not thinning, not dialated...nothing! Not sure if the EPO has helped or just nature taking its course but 1 week since my last appt and 3 days taking the EPO and I'm dilated 2cm WOOHOO!
I'm going to keep up with the EPO and see how it goes
I'm being induced this Sunday but hoping to speed things along a little more naturally lol

Ahhhh! So jealous! I've been taking EPO for about a week and all its given me is really strong nails
  • Isn't the EPO only supposed to soften the cervix? I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with dilating? Tho a softer cervix would probably be a cause of dilation, so what the hell do I know

  • Yeah the EPO just softens. I've been using it vaginally since 36 weeks so 2 weeks
  • Can you say DOGGIE STYLE!
  • My prenatal massage might have done something... She did some induction points during it and I have noticed much more frequent tightening up of my belly all day. Still can't feel it happening-- I only notice if I happen to touch my stomach and see that it's hard. But hey at 40+4 with no contractions or signs of any kind, I'll take it.
  • Oh God what haven't we tried?! 40+6 we've done it all! Walking, sex, bouncing on ball, massage, spicy food, pineapple, yoga, full moon, I've lost track! This baby is perfectly happy where he is!! I hope the end is near!!

From everything ive read, once the cervix begins to thin/soften (which is what the EPO is supposed to do) then it begins to open/dilate.
Like i said before, i have no clue if the EPO is even working or its just my body doing what its supposed to do but im going to keep using it till i go into labor or be induced on sunday.
  • Hey ladies with exercise balls..... Do I bounce on this thing or just sit here or what?!!$? Lol

Bounce away lady!! It's been the only thing that eases my back pain too. I love my ball!

You bounce on it, or rock your hips side to side or front to back to help open up your pelvis, and thus the babe can travel down farther (which I would think should help with dilation, right?). What I read suggested also trying to do circles in either direction. When your moving your hips you're supposed to try to keep your shoulders stationary so that its your hips and not your upper body / torso that's making the movement. It ends up kinda feeling like sitting hula hoops
