me and my fiancé are supposed to find out the sex of our baby and since I'm a FTM I was wondering if anything me had any cute ideas on how to announce the sex. Any suggestions is appreciated thanks in advance.
We get to find out close to the 4th and plan on seeing if it's possible to have someone at a fireworks stand get a colored firework picked out for us, even if it's just a sparkler
I'm hoping I have a girl since my car is already pink lol but we are painting our rims and writing all over the windows on my car saying its a boy or it's a girl in English and Spanish.. With some streamers coming off my hitch lol
We used a wiffle ball with colored chalk....we had a gender reveal party and my husband hit the ball and it busted revealing pink chalk for our sweet baby girl!
Im having a gender reveal party on saturday....as im pregnant with triplets im doing something for each baby....avoiding cake 1-releasing coloured balloons from a big box 2- balloons filled with coloured paint that ill get people to throw darts at so the paint drips onto a canvas which i will later use to put a letter on and hang above each crib 3 - making scratchies for the third baby
Theres alot of ideas on pintrest if your looking for something different just search gender reveal
Our first we did cupcakes. This one I am thinking of wrapping a Very large box like a present and putting pink or blue blown up balloons in it and having our daughter open it.
My husband will find out on Wednesday and then surprise me on Thursday which is my birthday. Then on Saturday it's our boys first birthday party and he will open a box with either pink or blue balloons and then all of our family and friends will find out at once.
My in laws don't live in the same town so we are going to send flowers ...pink if it's a girl blue if it's a boy! They have no idea yet ! We have one more week to go !
We will do the text announcement after we find out TOMORROW. I did something creative for the pregnancy announcement, that's enough creative juices for me lol
I just put up a pic of my daughter wearing a "sister of the year" shirt and digitally added a banner that said, "baby sister arriving in October 2015". Although it'll most likely be early November. Meh.
My two daughters and their cousin are going to open a box that will release either pink or blue balloons. Gonna get it all on video then either going to edit in All American Girl if it's a girl or Watching You if it's a boy.
From the moment I held you in my arms, I knew it was meant to be.
I adore her smile, I cherish her hugs, I admire her heart. But most of all, I love that she is my daughter.
DH an I are probably going out to have a small dinner with both of our immediate families. But honestly, it's mostly a going away dinner for my DH since he is leaving for a month with military....telling them the sex of our baby is just something else to throw in there.
I'm anti making everything a big deal but I agree with PP that brought up Pinterest. If doing a big announcement is your thing, there are overwhelming amounts of ideas there.
We've got the anatomy scan on Wednesday. I'm considering buying a cute little boy suit and a tutu then doing a family photo with either the boy's suit or the tutu over my tummy. It's really important to me to keep my 2 older girls (9 and 10) involved in all of this and I think they'd have fun with that.
We did a hot dog cookout with the cake with immediate family and close friends. Pretty simple. First grandchild on DH's side so they were excited. We let the grandmas cut the cake. The people there were the ones that were there for us thru my dad's battle with ALS so it was nice to get together for something fun.
So we had a stylish blue beanie ready to go if LO was a boy and an equally stylish pink beanie ready to go if it was a girl. By "we", I mean the hospital. I honestly don't get the entire sex reveal thing so I don't have any cool ideas for you, but I second what a couple of others here have mentioned and recommend going to Pintrest for some ideas. Good luck!
I think the gender reveals are fun! We have 3 kids and only did this with our last because it wasn't popular yet with our first 2. We didn't have a separate party though. We found out right before Christmas so with my family we just incorporated it. We gave my dad a box with blue balloons to open and video taped it and then posted that on FB. We find out this time July 1 so we will incorporate it with our 4th of July BBQ. I am still trying to figure it out but my When my Das first found out we were having a boy with my first he made a joking comment "what he wasn't man enough to shoot the balls off". Yes I found it funny. So with this being out 4th and last I might get a shoe box put a you gun in it with the saying "he was man enough this time" or "still not after 4 attempts". With a sack of marbles I. The box if it's a girl. Just a bit of silly humor. But like I said still not sure what I will do.
We're having a cookout with our immediate family, and popping a balloon that either has pink or blue confetti inside. My SO & I don't even know the sex yet (we had the tech write it down), so we'll all be finding out together.
We called our moms to tell them and sent a text to our siblings. We haven't announced it on Facebook and don't plan to. We will tell anyone that asks us though. We are not in to the big gender reveal parties at all, so that was for sure not happening.
@CEB37 My husband and I will know the sex, but no one else will. I'm making the cake and dinner. We are going to cut the cake and the colored candy will spill out revealing the sex to everyone else. This is in NO WAY a shower (no gifts, no games, just dinner and cake) just a fun way for my family to find out. I have a big family and we are always looking for excuses to get together.
There's this cute thing: You dye the inside blue if it's a boy and you dye the inside pink if it's a girl. So until you cut the cake it won't be revealed. I didn't have that much time and I didn't want to make people (relatives, moms dads) waiting so I figured if it was a boy I'd get a chocolate cake with a note on top of it saying its a boy or I'd get a strawberry shortcake if it was a girl saying its a girl. Strawberry shortcake was the winner:)
We just told the people closest to us. For Social media...we are planning a family photo session. I'm getting blue silly string, I will cover each can with paper decorated with pink & blue question marks, then DH, all of the kids, and I will have a silly string fight. I think the kids (and adults) will love this family photo session.
Oh, I'll add this one too. My friends on FB just filmed a little video of them finding out. They had the sex on a piece of paper and had their daughter open it. They showed the paper on camera, cheered, and kissed and that was that. Very simple and cute.

I don't understand the need for an excuse. I come from avid family as well. My dad is one of 9, my mom is one of 6, and my H and I have numerous siblings. We want to get together, we do. NBD.
I just think the only thing that might be even remotely interesting about a sex reveal is the parents reaction. I mean, I just can't imagine caring that much about what sex someone else's baby is that I need a big announcement. I'm excited for my friends and family when they find out, sure, but...it just seems a little overboard when you already know.

My mother and some of my friends are far more anxious to find out if it's a boy or a girl than I am. And my girls are really excited about it too.

Re: How to announce the sex of the baby
"It's a boy"
I second the recommendation for Pinterest for inspiration, OP. That's where I go when I want some creative juices to flow.
1-releasing coloured balloons from a big box
2- balloons filled with coloured paint that ill get people to throw darts at so the paint drips onto a canvas which i will later use to put a letter on and hang above each crib
3 - making scratchies for the third baby

Not everything needs and party or a big to-do. We called the grandparents and then posted on FB last time. Same will happen this time.
Pinterest has ruined our society in this way. Not everything has to be so complicated.

This is the kind of cake we plan on serving.
Baby Boy born on 1/14/13

Fill in the blank, copy, and paste into text message for everyone on your list.
And, no, I did not find this on pinterest.
