  • @Drey329 I think you are TOTALLY on to something about MIL's hoping we fail. I actually have a good relationship with mine, but it's nowhere NEAR as close as the one she has with my SIL (husband's brother's wife). Hubby has noticed it over the years, as well. We've finally pieced together that the main reason is that he and I are stable, I'm pretty independent, and I've never run to her for help. Pardon my language, but SIL is a hopeless f-up, and I think MIL gets a high out of swooping in and "saving" her all the time! THAT aspect of her annoys me, I'm just glad it's never directed at me ;)

  • bahahah "My Child" that would piss me off so much @meredithhay!!
  • Honestly, my whole family and all my friends are kind of driving me crazy. I feel like no one is real excited about this baby; no one has even offered to throw me a baby shower. Granted, both of my sisters and best friends are in different states, and one sister and BF is PG themselves, so I didn't expect that from them!! But when I confronted my mom about it, she just said, "well you just assumed I'd do it and started talking about it before I could." Seriously. I just said I'd like to do it before I go back to school at 8 1/2 months pregnant because i would like to know what all I have and still need to buy before the madness of the school year starts (I'm a teacher). I've had a lot of people ask about a shower as well, and I feel awkward not knowing what to tell them, because no one has really offered to throw me one but everyone assumes I am having one! And, even if my mom throws it, I know I'll end up paying for it because she isn't working right now. All of this, in turn, makes me feel selfish. My grandparents only talk about it if I bring it up, and my other sister and brother literally have never once asked me how I am doing. I know baby definitely isn't the first niece or grandchild to anyone, but I almost feel like an annoyance to everyone when I bring her up and I'm wrong to be this excited about my first baby! Even my husband seems tired of talking about baby! Just needed a vent lol. Sorry guys!
  • Anyone who is sick and doesn't keep their distance from me! My immune system is basically non-existant since becoming pregnant and I've had influenza, pneumonia, and a terrible cold all within the past 4 months. My coworker (who I share an office with) just came in with an awful cold and cough this morning and I immediately told her to go home and work from home, or that if she was staying, I was going to work from a different office today. I'm leaving on a trip to Colorado for a wedding in two days and I do not want to get sick before the first time off from work I've had in forever! I'm sure she thought I was being a snot and overreacting, but come on ... if you're sick and have the ability to work from home, don't come into the office and infect the rest of us! She's planning on coming in tomorrow so I'm planning on working from another desk to keep my distance. So irritating.
