i am 5'3 And pregnant with # 2. Originally I was pregnant with #1 at 36 and weighed 145 pre pregnancy. Then I gained 55lbs with that one yikes. Didn't work out and ate whatever and whenever I wanted.
Took three years to get back to 150 because let's face it it's exhausting to think about exercise when you work full time doctorate program full time and have an infant full time.
Now I am 40 and pregnant with #2. I had already gained back to 165 pre pregnancy due to holiday weight gain ugh. And now I am 19 weeks and weigh 175. So a 10 lb. gain but jeez my tummy is super preggers!! They say it does look bigger faster with #2.
Still. I am looking for a way to slow the weight gain. Want to keep it to 20-25lbs Max and I'm due November 8-16ish.
Also I am not an active person. I very lazy but have been spin weight and strength training periodically. And I know. I should go for walks but they are soooo boring. :P
Am I the only person who just does not feel like moving in this heat and with being half way through pregnancy and being so old arse lol!
Re: So Big at 19 weeks already. Ack. Weight gain?
One thing I would say it a lot of it is probably your organs moving up. Mine shifted so early this time that my upper stomach looks huge some days.
The humidity has not been helping either. I feel puffy.
I think your body is going to do what it needs to do so go easy on yourself.
Maybe try swimming? I took prenatal water aerobics last time and loved it. I'm trying to find a class that fits my schedule now because it really helped me feel better last time.
I know I gain and lose based on nutrition. Don't eat the giant pizza from dominos, try to get an organic flatbread from the grocery store and make your own or get a frozen flatbread pizza that'll cost you 600 calories instead of over 1000. I eat veggie burgers and bake my own French fries. Little changes in your calorie consumption will likely make a bigger difference than the 200 calories you'll burn working out.
I was very active last pregnant until I got put on bedrest at 35 weeks. I gained 70lbs but 40 was gone in a week... It was mostly water.
They don't tell you how much blood is going to come out. Lol. I had IVs twice a week for 6 weeks as part of trying to stop preterm labor, I felt like my insides were swimming.
