  • somebody mentioned epidurals -- one of my guy friends keeps telling me that his wife tried it both ways and preferred the drugs, so I should just do it that way. umm guess what, I'm NOT her and I'd like to make my own decision about that!
  • @preggersinparis ive had that too! All the nurses at the hospital were mum is seem to think it's their right to comment on me being pregnant, even down to the gender! so bloody annoying, how the hell do you knowing I'm carrying a girl by the shape of my bump?

I have to say, I interrupt them back now when they come out with BS about 'oh wait til your 8 months etc' and say 'YES! I know, I already have a 7 year old' .....stops them dead haha

Try it lol, I know your a FTM, but it does work a treat ;-)
  • My manager compared being pregnant to being fat. I nearly lost it.
  • Elderly lady asks when I am due, I reply "September".. She then narrows her eyes at my stomach and asks "twins?" And after me saying no, she then asks me if I am sure!! YES I am freakin sure lol... She then walks away saying "you guys sure make big babies then!"

Like some people have noooooo filter. Jesus.
  • I think we're all walking targets of judgement when we're pregnant. Ugh.

My MIL annoys me so much! She always tells my husband,"We're having a baby!" My response in my head: No! I'm having the baby!

MIL also texted me out of the blue asking,"How much weight have you gained so far." I would never share this information with her on a good day, let alone on a bad, uncomfortable, my back hurts and my hormones are going crazy day.

    We'll get through this, ladies!

A random lady in a public bathroom said to me, "when are you due honey?", I replied September, her response, "you have a long way to go to be waddling like that."

Yuck I've gotten that one too. My waddle is going strong right now because I have sciatica and everyone likes to tell me it's "too soon for that". Huh???

I've gotten the "are you due any day" and "oh, you're going to be pregnant all summer, I'm sorry" yada, yada, yada. I've even had a member at the facility I work at start talking to my belly last night! I'm having a girl, yes I know I'm carrying high, no I haven't had any random cravings........so. over. it.

I actually responded to someone if I knew what I was having was "no, but she has four limbs" and got the most dumbfounded look ever, as if they heard that I was having a puppy lol.

I'm also a personal trainer so I still run (if I can call it that, lol) and lift on a regular basis and part of my job is to maintain a clean and safe facility, so I'm constantly lifting and putting things away, from stretching mats to free weights and kettle bells. I was putting away 10 pound plates and a male member asked if I should be doing that. "No one said I couldn't and I will continue to do so until I can't, at which I will ask you for assistance." Yep, that member shut up on the spot. The amount of stupid comments I get while working out or training a client or cleaning up the facility are endless. I really wish they made a shirt that says that I'm pregnant and workout, what's your excuse because I thoroughly enjoy rubbing it in that I'm fit and getting ready to enter my third trimester.

  • I'm 24 weeks 3 days and when I wear the more fitted maternity dresses the bump is more pronounced (adorable in my opinion bc I'm a proud petite mama)

My co-worker says - omg.... You look REALLY preggo today ("preggo" irks me)

    And I was like oh.

So she continues - like your bump looks REALLY big today.

In front of 4 males interns who are refusing to make eye contact with me bc they think I am going to haul off and smack someone.

I get cold sores too - and Im not taking my medicine bc I don't feel like taking pills right now even though dr approved. So I have one and she says the next say ...'your lip looks REALLY bad.

I told her she was just full of compliments these days and walked out of her office
  • Sciatica can happen ANY time!!! I had it before pregnancy and I've had it from the beginning of the second trimester
  • Haha I get almost all this to my mom saying I'm fat (in a joking way), people commenting on the summer I have ahead of me, and the "was it planned?" Ugh! Out of those I think the most annoying though is my husbands family, when we showed them the ultrasound photos they all go "that's a Sarsfield baby!" Like probably ten thousand times! (They are Sarsfield proud) first off, it's a sono you can't tell what he looks like! Second, What is my Catalani Italian side chop liver? It's just as much a Catalani as a Sarsfield. Plus I always hear "he is gonna be handsome just like a Sarsfield" and I think in my head what am I ugly that he can't be beautiful like a Catalani? They act like he won't get nothing from me?! I mean there is just a whole list of scenarios but those are the most annoying haha

@kjs08 - HAHA! The t-shirt is a great idea. I had an idea the other day for one, and maybe I'll start making them "If you didn't put it there, your opinion doesn't matter" so if people make stupid comments, we can just point to the shirt and smile.

I would buy the shit out of that shirt. :))
  • Oh man some of these are making me laugh. So sorry! What is with the twin comments??? Geez. I must be so large people are scared to say something! I've not gotten many comments yet. I can't imagine when it happens, I may just cry.

  • I have a coworker that trash talks my son's name on a regular basis! I just want to slap the crap out of her!! I love his name....Abel Glen Chase

Not obnoxious or annoying, just super cute. I just recently started showing and my 6 year old nephew told me I was lying, there was no way a baby was in my belly, I'm not big enough to have a baby in there! And proceeded to tell me " You're just chubby!!" With the cutest smile on his face and ran off!... I guess I'll prove him wrong soon enough!
  • At work I constantly get comments on how big my belly a is, that I'm going to go early, am I sure I'm not having twins, I look like I have a beach ball under my dress (that one was courtesy of my sister), but the thing that annoys me the most is other moms with young kids! They all feel the need to tell you their birth story and "when I was pregnant.." And give you advice on EVERHTHING baby related. I'm sure they are trying to help but give it a rest! I have already made a promise to myself that once my son is born I will only give advice when asked
  • My coworker thinks she is my OB because she had her first baby a year ago. She constantly makes comments about things that I do at work. Once I was reaching up on a shelf and she literally started yelling at me in front of customers that I was going to get the umbilical cord wrapped around the baby's neck. UMMM unless you have a medical degree, I'm pretty sure I'm going to stick to the advice that I get from my OB. Then I yawned once in front of her and she started saying how the baby must be sleeping because I will only get tired when the baby is tired. I don't know what happened during her pregnancy, but after I've worked an 8 hour shift, I'm going to be tired regardless.

And the MIL posted on Facebook that the baby would be named Mila Aria when me and my husband haven't even decided on a name yet! And posted all of my sonogram pictures! It just kills me how inconsiderate some people can be. Sorry for the rant.

@shaunnarose I'd buy that one too! I saw a shirt a few days ago that a lady was wearing that said life's better with a bump. I looked at my husband and said the shirt was bull. I can't do a damn thing better with a big ol' belly except maybe improve my flexibility to figure out how to get socks and shoes on!

Oh my gosh haha I just had this today. I have to go to customs everytime I come home (I was canadian, now permanent resident in US) and the officer goes :

    "Let me guess, twins???"

    Me: "no"

    "Are you sure?!?!?!?!?!?!!"

Me: "yup I'm just a whale I guess, thanks".

What a douchebag. I'm 7 months pregnant and I've gained 20lbs, like, shut your face pal lol
  • I had to give a presentation to work yesterday for some teachers who are touring local companies as part of a summer program. Two of the women approached me to ask when I was due because "We are all so worried you're going to go into labor any minute." Um, thanks bitches. It was the first day of my third trimester. I still have 12 weeks to go. And here I was thinking I was doing well because aside from my stomach which has grown, I'm not swollen at all.
  • This thread is amazing! I've gotten all the same types of comments about twins, going into labor any day, disbelief that I have 3 months to go, and hot summer weather. I feel like a walking target at work and for some reason, people just feel like it's ok to say whatever they want to me.
But I have to say the most obnoxious thing that has happened so far is my mother announcing my pregnancy on facebook before I did. I had to have a conversation with her about why that's not appropriate and she could not understand why it's inappropriate. Then about a month later, I was visiting with her side of the family and they all knew the baby's name! I was furious! We don't even know for sure if we're going with that name and she told everyone. Then I had to have a conversation with my mom about why it's inappropriate to announce a possible baby name and she couldn't understand why. I almost lost it. What is wrong with people? And this is my mother!

    1. My in-laws like to tell me how huge I am. That they feel sorry for me. I'm not even big. There's no room for the baby to go but out dumb dumbs!!! 2. DH and I made the choice together to wait until the birth to find out the gender. Once people hear that they like to tell me what they think I'm having. 3. I never thought I'd care about people asking me if we were trying. Honestly it's none of your damn business.
  • I was out buying some maternity clothes late in the first trimester, and the cashier lady was congratulating me on my pregnancy. Then she asked if I had any names picked out. One girl name I've loved for years, and is my great-grandma's name, is Dagne (very unique and very Norwegian, I know). She looked at me in horror and said, "Oh! She is going to HATE you!" I just about ran out of the store crying! I realize that not everyone will like that name as much me, but why on earth would you say that to someone?? Especially when they're newly pregnant and most likely extremely sensitive and emotional??
  • I've been married 13 years but just trying for a baby the last one. My mother decided this isn't a good enough story so tells everyone we've been trying 13 years and this is a miracle baby. FFS
  • @CourtneyRolf I think that is a beautiful name!
  • I went to a chiropractor today for the first time. Said my pulse was higher than most pregnant women and asked if I had coffee that day. I told him I had had a cup that morning. He proceeds to make a passive comment about how most of the pregnant women he treats try to avoid caffeine. Didn't say it had anything to do with my back issues just had to throw it out there. Not my doctor (who is perfectly fine with it btw) so zip it and stick to cracking my back. THANKS.
  • Not obnoxious but an old guy at target looked at my stomach and laughed then said it looks like I drank too much beer.
