A couple months ago my sister told me about her college graduation. I told her of course I would be there for her. When I graduated she drove across the state to attend mine, I only need to travel 20 mins to see hers. Fast forward a few months, I completely forgot and this weekend she reminded me what date it was. When she told me I almost started crying because it is the only weekend in June that I had no plans and was excited to lounge around doing nothing. Yup so I was upset to give up my doing nothing to celebrate a special day with my sis.

I mentioned before that my son has a speech delay, he can only say a handful of words and doesn't say mama yet. He can very clearly tell me what tv show he wants to watch though. That's some winning parenting there lol.

I do in home daycare. Today is going to be a movie day because I'm way too tired to do absolutely anything. Luckily, I'm quite positive the parents would agree that a movie day is more than okay for this rainy Friday.
My husband can do nothing right these days. If he keeps slurping his coffee and clanking his spoon against the cereal bowl I'm going to throat punch him. Damn hormones!
I would get flamed for this if this were TK... Ok so I'm going to a wedding tomorrow and I usually have a standard amount I gift for weddings. But, since my wedding (almost 4 yrs ago) I also make sure to consult my list of what people gave me before giving back to them. So ordinarily, I may give $300 to cover me and my husband ... But I consulted my list and noticed the couple getting married tomorrow only gave us $160. Grant it, we were 26/27 when I got married and now we're in early 30's so I'll up their gift to an even $200. But I'm totally giving less than I normally would.
Remember it's FFFC!
Also, I will mention that I did buy a nice shower gift and my husband dropped close to a couple grand on this guy's destination bachelor party and neither of us are in the wedding party.

Right there with you.
I work from home and my five year old is out of school for the summer. I spend all my effort the first four days of the week trying to limit TV to just a couple hours. Welp, Friday that all goes out the window. I'm burnt out in stopping every 15 minutes to provide a new activity. SO TV FRIDAY IT IS!!

I think that's totally acceptable. I am not that generous, lol.

I slept right through DH alarm instead of waking him up. When I finally woke him up he was very late and he asks, "Did you attempt to wake me on time?" I looked at him with a look of betrayal and said "Yes!! Of course!" Lol. Whoops!
I'm already ready to ditch my BF and sleep in a separate bed. I feel like I've spent the past week throwing his limbs off of me all night. And am genuinely annoyed that he seems to be giving me less and less room to breathe every night. Combined with my 3 year old who makes her way in without fail and my dog who won't leave me alone, I'm over it. Where will my body pillow go in a few months?!
I was feeling really good with no nausea, but I kept reading that people missed it bc it was a good sign of the pregnancy, so then I started hoping for it. Now?? Eff you nausea. Eff you and the horse you rode in on.
My BF really messed up his back at work last week. He's got a pretty demanding manual type labor job even though he is the supervisor. He asked me to massage his lower back last night and I was annoyed to the core. What's wrong with me?! He will massage my feet every night unprompted and I cannot even rub the mans back for 10 minutes?

Maybe I'm cheap but I think $200 is a nice gift. DH has two friends who came to our wedding (DRANK A LOT). One brought his 20 year old girlfriend who also drank and they never so much as got us a card. I always secretly hold it against them. I'm pretty sure she had no idea. They're married now and knowing her I'm pretty sure she would be mortified to find out.
Yea I wouldn't call 200 cheap. It's just less than I normally try to give.
Plus, every year at this time I go on an unpaid hiatus from work and have to go on unemployment til work starts again in late july (I work in TV). So funds are tight now anyway.

Ugh. I had few people do that at our wedding. How RUDE. That's exactly what I said. At least a card or something? Nope
I don't have many symptoms yet (fingers crossed the nausea stays away), except I'm exhausted. DH has been leaving me with the housework since he works all day (I'm slowly writing my thesis this summer), but looking at the dishes makes me tired - and vacuuming/dusting - yeah... No.

Standard cash amount for weddings around here is $50-100 tops!
Ugh I wish! That would make the 6 weddings I have this season less daunting. Standard here is to cover your plate plus a little extra if you can. I assume most people spend around 150 or a little more a head. So that's why I do 300 as a standard.

I must have totally missed this piece of etiquette at some point. Whoops. Hopefully we haven't angered too many people!
It's regional. I'm from ny and it's what we do here... But my husband is from the south and they buy gifts off the registry for the wedding Just depends on where you're from...

I was up from 2-530a with a screaming toddler with an ear infection. My darling husband came downstairs irritated that I wasn't doing a sufficient job of keeping her quite and woke him and our other 2 children up. When my darling toddler saw her daddy she went right to him and feel asleep, not a tear one. Commence tears and silent cussing that I failed miserably.
It's been a TV week in our house. Every person in my house is sick. Yesterday it was all I could do to drag myself up to feed the kids and change diapers. I just keep telling myself next week will be more normal.
My kid is only eating blueberries and animal crackers right now (and milk).
We got married before most people and didn't get a gift or even just a card from most of DHs friends (fraternity brothers). I'm still urked. We usually spend $100 on a wedding gift. Cash isn't given as often here (we got maybe $400).
I stayed up way too late watching OITNB and have every intention of doing very little work today.
I'm already ready to ditch my BF and sleep in a separate bed. I feel like I've spent the past week throwing his limbs off of me all night. It might be easier to take your body pillow and go lay in your child's bed. With my first we had a great dane, a basset hound, and a cat that all were in the bed. DH slowly got less and less room.
1. It's taking a lot of effort, and frequent snacks and lots of lying down, to keep my MS at bay, so my kid has watched a lot of Daniel Tiger this week. Like... a lot.
2. Said child just figured out how to blow cracker crumbs out of his mouth... like a spit take with water when you hear something shocking? And he is laughing maniacally every time he does it. Greeeeat.
I'm really upset that DH has drill this weekend, as I won't be around next weekend. I know it's not his fault, but I'm pissed that no one is here to rub my feet to help me take a nap in the middle of the afternoon. Rough life, huh?
My oldest who is 8 was on All Stars for his Little League team, they practiced everyday for over 2 hours (for 2 weeks) then had a game every night last week. I was secretly relieved when they lost that second game (double elimination) because I was absolutely exhausted from chasing the toddler around and just had found out I was pregnant and wayyyy overly emotional.
Though he is now signed on for a Fall ball team that will start practicing next month. I'm tired again already thinking about it.
@HBirdie I feel you on the MS part!!! Just wanted to say I hope you feel better soon!
@mrs3615: Thanks!! I had it so bad last time I was puking every hour! I reaaally hope that doesn't happen this time because I can't handle that with a toddler too. I was just lying in bed for an entire month! But right now it's mostly manageable if I eat super often... I went to the store and bought crackers, pop tarts, instant oatmeal, a bunch of fruit, granola bars, pistachios, and some other stuff so that I had a good variety of easy stuff to grab and eat whenever I start to feel sick. It's mostly working!
I hope you can get yours under control. MS is no fun at all.
Oh! I just remembered my funny confession! I literally dreamt about Reese's Fast Breaks last night. In my dream we were at a wedding and it was Reese's themed (WTF... but actually that would be awesome) and the favors were Fast Breaks and I was stuffing my pockets and purse with them and trying to figure out how to carry a tub of them out to my car. Yikes.

Just makes me think of this:
I'm about to lose it on a girl who just move a few desks over. It sounds like she is eating glass ALL THE TIME and then she proceeds to loudly floss her teeth at her desk. Gross.

Oh I am obsessed with Reese's. So much so that after I had Caleb, four different people brought me Reese's in the hospital. hahaha. And someone brought a Reese's blizzard. They're my FAVORITE.
