Some people say that pineapple can induce labor. But, the amount of pineapple you would have to eat to do that is ridiculous (somewhere around 6 or 7 entire pineapples).
Aside from that, it's great for you and delicious, so eat up!

actually from what i read when ttc and looking for all the solutions to getting knocked up, pineapple has been known to cause uterine contractions. That is why when ttc you are supposed to eat it from day 1-5 DPO and then stop because it could affect implantation
please don't flame this- it is just the logic behind the pineapple thing, not saying i subscribe to it. it prob. falls in the turkey meat/listeria category

Sorry...In the post about weird things people have said, a few posters said they were told not to eat pineapple. I love pineapple and eat it almost everyday so I was curious why it was bad.

It's the bromelain in the pineapple core that supposedly helps.
I read on the TTC boards that women who are TTC will eat the center of the pineapple 1 piece a day for 4-5 days before ovulation to increase the chance of getting BFP. Because of what the pineapple does to the cervix to allow it to open for a better chance.
I never did it, but thats what I remember reading.

It's not before O, it's after. You eat the core from 1 DPO - 5DPO.
Re: Please explain the pineapple thing
Um. Want to clue us in about what the pineapple "thing" is? Eating it? Looking at it? Buying one?

Yah...its total bullsh!t if you ask me. But what I was told was that pineapple contains enzymes that encourages dialation because of the enzymes.
Whatev. It's my favorite fruit and I eat it almost every day.
