I'm 11weeks and I think I feel the baby move

Re: I'm 11weeks and I think I feel the baby move

  • So, this is my second pregnancy too. Baby is too small to feel from the outside. I remember the first movements get like little bubbles or flutters inside me. That's it. Baby is literally too little to feel outside. Unless you're farther along than you think you are. That's a game changer.

And for the record, if you didn't want to open yourself up for comments and such. You shouldn't have posted. As supportive and helpful as people try to be, the realism to anyone feeling at 11 weeks is poor. I didn't few my son until after my 18 week ultra sound and the doc told me then that was to be expected.

I just hope I'm not feeding the trolls...

  • I'm 10 weeks pregnant , and i SWEAR I felt my baby move its miniature angelic little nub like arms and legs in my womb ! Then I farted and realized it was just gas =))
    DED!
  • I'm not directing it towards any one person but the replies I have seen are getting ridiculous. Whether you agree you can or cannot there is information to suggest both. We are all here for one reason support and some of the replies are said in the wrong manner. I'm just saying if anyone including myself offers advice the way u direct your comments should be respectful.
  • This is ridiculous we are supposed to be here supporting and answering questions not bashing each others replies regardless if you agree or not.

How is correcting a false idea considered bashing?

There's nothing to agree with here because it's scientifically wrong.

Is there a new trend where people now decide to get offended over facts? I'm not liking it.

Actually it may not be gas. You're not feeling the baby yet but it may not be gas either.

See, I know gas. I know any kind of gas the human body can think to inflict upon itself. I have a pretty intense lower GI disorder. I am always in gas pain, always bloating, difficulty eating and lots of either constipation or diarrhea. I know from gas.

Yesterday something happened. It wasn't gas. It was a faint fluttering followed by a squeezing sensation. It didn't hurt but it wasn't pleasant either (not unpleasant physically but scary because it was alien). So of course, i panicked and called my nurse who asked if they were coming at regular intervals. I told her no and she said i may possibly have felt my first Braxton Hicks contraction. Most women don't feel them until about 20 weeks but she said it's possible to feel SOMETHING this early. She said many women mistake them at this stage for gas. But they're not and to the trained eye (the gas master like myself) they feel different.  Braxton Hicks contractions are your uterus in training for delivery. They begin around week 6 but are not detectable for a period of time after (varies). They sometimes hurt but not always.

I don't know how likely it is to feel them this early (11.5 weeks for me) but that is what my nurse told me. She DID also say she's personally never had a patient describe them to her this early on but she insisted that it was possible. Just unusual.
  • I'm also about 13 weeks and started to feel my baby girl move a few days ago. This is my 2nd so I know what I am feeling. It's the little flutters. Pretty amazing!! Don't listen to other people who are jealous or negative. It's your baby and only you know what you are feeling!! Good luck Momma.
  • I am supporting you by giving you facts. That is support. Would you rather know the truth or have people IRL judge you for sounding uneducated?
    Thank God for Raid.

  • Feeling baby move is NOT listed. Considering the size, and the reported high levels of gas (and lets not forget your body adjusts constantly to the changes), it is extremely unlikely at that point. At 18 weeks with my son it was MAYBE flutters then. What you're feeling may be completely related to being pregnant, so take happiness in that. The likelihood that its your baby is just not in the ballpark.

Leave the poor woman alone! I don't know why everyone feels the need to be right and to put other people down because they don't agree or think that science has proven them wrong so I need to shove it in their face. I've been told that it IS possible to feel "flutters" as early as 11 weeks, and it depends on the woman as to whether they can feel it or not. It doesn't happen often, but it is possible and my god stop shaming women for expressing what they are feeling. I think that if you say you feel it, ignore all the naysayers and bitches because no one pregnancy or woman is the same.

I've been told that unicorns fart rainbows and when a baby laughs a fairy gets its wings, but that doesn't actually mean those things happen. Science says you can't feel a baby move at 11 weeks. Science doesn't care what you've been told or you believe; facts and truth don't care either.
    But. But.  :((

This makes me sad. I thought this was to show support, not burst the bubbles of those that are excited. Who cares what science says. Let her have her moment. Are you that hell bent on "being right"? No matter what I know, this would not be the situation where I would voice it. There was no concern for safety, just excitement and the joy of sharing that feeling. The response that she should have gotten and that Im going to give now is "Congrats. Thats so awesome that you get to feel this little miracle so early! I cant wait until I get to experience this too!"
With that being said, Im going find a site that has supportive people on it.
  • You can't change stupid.
  • Oh my goodness. Can we please just leave everyone alone? If you think they can feel the baby, then great, if you think it's gas, then tell them nicely! This is one of the snarkiest pregnancy forums I've ever come across! We are all recently pregnant hormonal nervous women here who need support and gentle help, not rudeness.

No. No, we're not. There is no requirement that anyone posting on this board is in the 1st Trimester.

  • KEGELS!

And for those of you who blame your pregnancy hormones for your wacky behaviours, you can do 2 sets.

    GO!
  • Ye that person that kept saying gas is an idiot... Ive asked around and researched it... Its quite possible to feel it move early. It all depends in how sensitive you are.. Why were they so hell bent on bursting your bubble? Go away. You cant tell a person what they FEEL!!
  • Ignorance is pure bliss
  • I think what jojo211 was looking for (she didn't ask a question), was real-time community support. It's difficult to have with a 5 y/o post found from the search box.
  • JFC, this post is almost a month old. Let. It. Go.
