Things that NOBODY warned me about.

Re: Things that NOBODY warned me about.

  • I had no idea each pregnancy would be worse. I thought it would be easier and less uncomfortable since my body has done this twice before, and once with twins, but this pregnancy is the worst so far. My Dr confirmed that it's true, but consoled my by saying while pregnancy gets harder, delivery should get easier.

  • Nobody warned me of having horrible indigestion! I've always heard of bad heartburn, but never indigestion. Or the horrible restless leg syndrome, super dry hair, non existent sex drive- I heard mostly the opposite that women usually have a bigger sex drive when pregnant- not me, can't even stand it when my SO kisses me! Also having lots of hair coming out in the shower and the first time it happened I freaked out. And the peeing my pants a little every time I sneeze, which oddly enough I've sneezed about 3 times everyday since I've been pregnant- didn't think that someone could sneeze that many times in a day, let alone when you are pregnant!

One thing I am so happy about..... My skin has been AMAZING! Very little pimples when normally I'd be like pizza face. I use witch hazel religiously and regular face wash and moisturizer and I'm good to go! My skin is clear and mostly even in color. I like to think it's my pregnancy glow going on. I'm loving it!!! I hope it sticks.
  • Not pregnancy but I remember the first time around what shocked me most postpartum was the intense contractions that happen when you nurse for the first week or two. Like seriously, those contractions each time baby eats are as intense as labor contractions and sorry to say for STMs, those contractions get worse with each baby :-( I'm seriously dreading it.

it's crazy my skin is usually pretty good normally, but my hair and face doesn't get oily anymore and my skin just is amazing!!! I kept being told I would break out like I was in middle school but instead my skin is the best it's ever been!!!!!! LOVING IT!
  • No one warned me that I actually had to take care of the baby after delivery!

Ok this seems strange, but seriously, with my first we got into our PP room and the nurse started telling me where the diapers were and I was a little in shock... It hit me fast that I actually had someone I needed to take care of now! ;-)

Can I second this?! I'm so self-centered thinking about my body, my sleepless nights, my baby shower, my painful labor...but what about this tiny little human that I actually have to take home and keep alive?!!!!! Someone should've warned us that sex leads to this hahaha
    =))
  • Nobody told me that I wouldn't be able to fully empty my bladder unless I sit all the way forward when I pee.
  • Never even thought that tying my shoes would be a problem... Belly is always getting in the way of that task. Or the fact that you can just be standing there and almost pee yourself for no reason! That a pantie liner would be your new best friend, not only for little bits of pee but holy discharge.
  • @KYmama9286 are you serious! That has me scared. Ugh......
  • I didn't work during the first pregnancy, so nobody warned me how exhausting it would be to work a full shift at work. Nobody warned me that I wouldn't be able to walk around the block without experiencing sharp lower belly pain. (How am I supposed to stay fit during pregnancy?) smh

@Knottie00400192 I've been experiencing that too! It feels like I ran 5 miles. A really bad side ache happens too.
  • No on told me about the mole infestation I would get!!! Seriously have about 80 new tiny moles on my chest and neck! New ones on my arms and legs, freckles and liver spots and redness on my cheeks! It's so strange! I read this "goes away" but I don't see how moles just disappear!! Ewww
  • I was not anticipating the yeast infections (I have never had one before this) and acid reflux that feels like molten hot lava raising in your throat! Truly, a stellar cocktail of discomfort to keep you up at night. Here's hoping for some sleep tonight....!
  • For me it is horrible diarrhea. I had it with dd1 and same thing this time. My dr says it's totally normal and as long as it's only 1-2 times a day she's not worried. But omg, I have had some pretty embarrassing moments when I've needed to run to the restroom. I'm rarely constipated, though, so I guess there's that.
  • Haha... no one told me about the puffy nipples! It's weird and scared me at first. The disgusting skin tag colony that is growing just where my panties sit in my groin :( sooo not cool! My gynae says they're called mouse's nipples, yuck. I still gag in the kitchen sometimes and hubby has to cut up meat for me. Sex is difficult! Haha... the tummy gets in the way and i don't want hubby to squash baby. I get super emotional when we are intimate and laugh and cry at the same time... haha.My poor husband doesn't know what to do. He must think I'm cooked.Hee hee, so glad he's so supportive! Anyway, these hormones seriously give us a make over hey ladies. It's hard work growing a baby, but we'd all do it in a heartbeat x The reward of us having our little precious in our arms is going to be amazing! Xxx so excited and blessed and embracing every moment of carrying my precious child. Love feeling my baby squirm and move and kick, no one really explained what that would feel like, pretty amazing, I'd say!

No one told me I'd have trust issues towards sneezing! Lol. "Shit, shouldn't have trusted that one! :( "

Anyone else sometimes pee a bit when they sneeze!? Wth lol

Whenever I cough, sneeze, or vomit! It never really went away after baby #1 nine years ago! Pantyliners are your friend!
  • For me it's several little things that I knew would happen, but not so SOON! The peeing, in a big way. And difficulty bending over, and going up stairs. In my head this all happened in like the last month or so when you were hugely pregnant.
  • No one told me how uncomfortable eating would make me!!! Anytime I eat a meal, I feel like I'm going to be physically sick I feel so full (even if it's not a big meal!) It would have been nice to be warned about that!

I feel the same way!! It's horrible!

So this is somewhat privet and sensitive but I am mad that now one ever told me it could be like this.
A few days ago my constipation was so bad (and trust me girls - I really am doing/eating/drinking everything I can) that when I finally pushed it out screaming and crying I started bleeding. I must have ripped some vain in the process. I bled for half the day and now I am scared to poo again. :((
    (Ok, it's kind of funny)
