@jenn2132 as a parent I've had no choice at times to share but I hate it I do the same just pour it in there lolzz but I mostly always will have a drink on hand for every one around ! DS and I do nose bumping lolz and that's as close but nope no kisses on lips!
Um yeah, kissing your adult child on the lips is gross. Baby kisses are cute, especially when they are learning it, but kinda gross too.
And my husband never would've had a dog if I didn't have mine before we met. They are best buds but he still obsesses about the cleanliness of our dog. We agree to disagree on that. I keep my dog clean, but I don't obsessively wash my hands after touching it like he does.
OMG My mil tried to kiss me on the lips a few times. I was like "Whoa. No no."

It is a cultural thing. My family is from another country and I still peck my parents, aunts, uncles, etc on the lips to say hello and goodbye. It's not weird or awkward at all. For American culture it is not the norm at all though.

Some people grow up where this is normal. I just read an article on Facebook about families kissing on the lips. I think it's different not only from culture to culture but family to family. It's a sign of affection, not something sexual to most families.
I don't personally kiss family on the lips but we do cheeks, I've been teaching my four year old that but he'll have his days that he grabs my face and wants lip kisses. It doesn't bug me bc it's a sign of our affection and love, but I can't say I'll still want lip kisses when he's a teenager. The cheek kisses will do just fine.
@twogirlsandagreen I agree that a lot of times its a cultural thing. I'm glad my husbands culture just kisses on the cheek. While I don't love that either, it's a little more tolerable. @jenn2132 love the pic if your cat! So cute!
@aprosch yyesss I grew up like that too my mom would threaten my sister and I that if we didn't put sandals on shed tape them to our feet!!! I do know how clean a dog can be kept but just from the perspective that they lick their privates its enough for me, I'm not bad with dogs like I said they are super adorable I've had a poodle, a doberman and a jack Russell terrier. Amazing pets but just not for me I'd constantly be washing my hands and washing them and it just didn't work out. @MelMel92 mentioned smtn about the human mouth .......how's this for another U.O : KISSING CHILDREN ON THE LIPS !!!!! wdhf is that about !!!!! I am sorry if any of you guys do it to each its own, and I do not have a right to make any of you mad...BUT OMG! I had such a big huge fight w my sons grandma because before the baby was born she would kis her son (my sons father) on the lips... I was so disgusted!!!! Omg !!! A grown man...eww but then after I said smtn about it she stopped I guess he saw how it bothered me and she one time had told me oooo what do you think k I'm going to do with my grandson when he's born? I laughed so hard because I got so mad and said well if you wanna remain around to see your g.s them don't be stupid and do that with MY son.... Yuckkkkkkk
I HATE when people try to kiss my son on the lips, he's almost 4 and i rarely kiss him on the lips, when I see other people try I near tear a strip from them, it's like eww no God knows where your mouth has been.

Its pretty normal for me too. I kiss my mom and grandma on the lips as a greeting. Not my grandpa though, he gets kisses on the cheek :P We also greet anyone with 3 cheek kisses if we're somewhat close, rather than a handshake. Definitely a cultural thing!
Unpopular opinion: I dislike the weekly bump pics. Especially when the lady is like 14 weeks and trying (too) hard to accentuate a bump with use of hand positioning and holding down her shirt. I am more into just fun photos that happen to show your beautiful pregnant body, having fun and enjoying life.
Kissing kids on the mouth creeps me out. My parents didn't do it with us and I definitely won't be doing it with my son. We got kisses on the cheek and forehead and my mom will still do it sometimes. I know some people who shower with their kids (ages 5 and up) and that's weird to me too. I mean do what works for your family but by no means will I be getting naked in front of baby once he's old enough to remember and especially not bathing with him!
I just turned my head really fast each time. I think she finally got the point. I don't even kiss my parents on the lips lol just my little girl because she's still little bitty and it's sweet and I kiss the hell out of my husband because he's freakin hott.
My whole immediate family are lip kissers. Doesn't bother me at all. There nothing sexual about it.
My UO is that I don't feel like I owe anyone an explanation when I edit a post on The Bump. I mean, if I change the entire thing, then I'll let you know what's up, but if I just fixed one word because of an autocorrect mistake, I'm not spending another sentence explaining that.
I hate when people comment what I'm eating by saying it's the baby cravings. Um im pretty sure ice cream was amazing before I was pregnant.
Ugh THIS! I was checking out cakes and such at the grocery store for dessert for a family cookout over the weekend and some creepy guy came up to me and was like, "hmmm what does baby want? Chocolate? Vanilla? Pie??" And he looked at me like he expected me to say "BABY WANTS FOOD NOM NOM NOM" and I just glared at him, and he kept going!! "Gotta get those pregnancy cravings..hmm what looks good to baby?" And started to rub his own belly!! I finally picked up something random and said,"Yeah, that's not what's happening here." And practically ran down the aisle! My brother was talking about burger toppings that same day and mentioned bacon as an option and I said, "yeah that sounds good!" and he started laughing and says, "I love that you love bacon now that you're pregnant!" Ummm what? Bacon has always been delicious!
My uo, shoes on babies are stupid. Especially expensive shoes. My kids don't wear shoes unless we are doing something and everybody seems to care but it's totally better for foot development and they hardly ever lose their shoes, so bonus!
My kids kiss me on the lips. My oldest naturally stopped as she got older. It's actually a biological imperative. You are sampling and sharing germs which helps customize your breastmilk for your babies. Read, Our Babies Ourselves. Such a great book. I could see how if you are germ phobic it might seem gross, but it's good for them!
@tate62610 ...lolzzzz I do agree on the hot husband kissing ....but lolzz u guys are going to think am so weird there's a lot of times we won't kiss ...like when we're eating yuck not even a peck...in the morning w.o brushing teeth yuckk!! With this preg if he's had a beer yuckkk!!! I'm telling you I'm a NUT JOB ! 8-} @anorthro it isn't about it being sexual but about it being gross it grosses me out ! MB a little weird tho lolzz but as a culture thing I get it . its just in my sons fathers story there were lots of weird things they would do like she would tuck him in...she would tap him on the butt like a baby for him to fall sleep...now that I think about it they were big warning signs he was a mamas boy and completely immature!!!
