I don't know if this goes here, but do you bring your breast pump to the hospital? My DS needed to be in NICU, so I pumped while I was there, and two online "hospital bag checklists" had listed to bring your pump. I think that's odd.

Wait, but you said you pumped there. So did you have yours or not? Did you use one of theirs?
I think the point is to have it b/c the LCs are there, and can help you with your actual model if you need it, and make sure you have the right flanges and all that. IDK, I don't think it would be weird to bring it for that reason if you aren't sure you're going to really have access to someone who can answer pumping questions after you leave the hospital.
My hospital provided a breast pump and the you can take home the flanges, tubing, storage containers etc, if they match your pump at home. Maybe just call the hospital to be sure.

This is how my hospital does it. They will provide one and all attachments (which we can take home).
Well, my due date is tomorrow. Still nothing going on. But FI just left until Sunday I know he's only a 2 hour drive away if something goes down, but I just wish he could be here with me. We haven't been apart a day the entire pregancy. My mom and friends are planning things with me to keep me busy but I'm still feeling pouty. Hold off til Monday, LO!
So many thanks and kudos to military mamas who have to do this all the time/for extended time. I don't know how you do it!
Didn't want to add this to my symptoms post - @bbnmama2012 GO BIG BLUE! Been meaning to say that for a while. DH & I are huge BBN basketball fans. We have our UK onesies ready, but sadly Washington Wizards don't make John Wall onesies... Haha.
Does anyone else here follow www.thebloggess.com? Stabby unicorns are a common theme there, so I think some of you would really like her. Especially if you or someone you know has issues with depression or anxiety, it's worth checking out. Her first book was hilarious and I can't wait for her next one.
Firehouse subs today for the win. I think they caught your AC probs, though, @klkonwi Can you imagine cooking steamed subs in a shop with no AC when it's 90 degrees out?!
Someone explain to me why the TV plays a commercial for something that is nowhere near you!? I keep seeing Sonics slushy commercials and I REALLY want one.....but there's no Sonic near me Don't they know there's pregnant woman watching TV !?!

That's so mean!!! How far is it?? Ours is 20+ minutes to get there. So much traffic and rage.

I get Sonic commercials, and my nearest one is 3 hours away. I hate living in a small town sometimes. I also crave Chipotle, and the nearest of those is 1 hour 15 min. =P~
@Westypet ok...I may have exaggerated a bit when I said nowhere near me....I just realized there actually is one but it's still a 30 minute drive.
@mellymar Now that's just torture!! I don't understand why they even bother.
OMG they just played a dunkin donuts commercial !!! And I KNOW for sure they don't even have one in this entire state! That's it....I need to go back to the east coast.
We started getting Sonic commercials in my tiny little Oregon hometown about 8 months before it was announced that they would be building one there, so you guys may have something to look forward to
is it ok to post baby stuff here or should we keep this pregnancy related?
If ok... LO's head is finally looking less squished now on Day 5. also, I thought he had this beautiful tan, and then the midwife today said he's a bit yellow but nothing to worry about. so here I am, thinking my kid is finally looking decent... new mom of the year, right here! lol
Blowing up this exercise ball is proving to be too much work. The pump that came with it is essentially useless. My arms hurt so I gave up and now it just looks like a grape that is on its way to becoming a raisin. where's a man when I need him...
Also got hit by the hand me down bus today. 5 boxes and 6 garbage bags full from a friend and an uncle. Don't get me wrong I appreciate that I will probably not have to buy clothes for the first year of this kid's life... But I had told them when they asked that we didn't need much and were pretty much set. I have NO WHERE to store all of these and my moms living room looks like the drop off for the Salvation Army. Which is where most of this stuff will end up.

I just had to poo holding my new born. Bless his heart he's supposed to be the one dishing out poo and yucks. I didn't have time to waddle to his crib and back. Fun times.

So I'm going to put this here cause I can't put it on my fb cause the friend I am smh about will see it. And there may be ladies here who may disagree with me on this, too, but I don't care. This girl here, I'd consider her my real 'friend' here, as opposed to someone I know and am friendly with - she has a Harley motorcycle and never wears a helmet (there is no helmet law in WI, many people here do not wear them). She also doesn't wear her seatbelt, which is also unsafe, but I'm gonna stick with the helmet thing for now. I tell her - "dude. I realize its not the law, and its a drag if you're not used to it, but you don't even have to be going ANYWHERE, you could be sitting, stopped, at a light and a car can hit you and knock you off your bike and bonk your head so hard your brains are scrambled. And good gods, if you were to have an accident at any kind of speed! You're a MOM!!! You could render your daughter motherless in an instant!!" And she always just blows me off. Well, anyways, her own mom was just recently in an accident on her motorcycle, she also does not wear a helmet. It was a super low speed accident, the street they were on had a 25mph speed restriction, but mom STILL had skull fractures, AND SHE LANDED IN GRASS. (Mom is going to be OK, tho)
I hope my friend learns from this lucky lesson, and wears a helmet (tho I really doubt she will)

Had a dear family friend, who is a CRAZY experienced rider with her husband, get into what should have been a fatal crash on the highway. The only thing that kept her alive was the fact that they were very wealthy and she had a custom kevlar (sp?) motorcycle suit that basically held her body together.
I feel your frustration. So many things are preventable. Why would you ignore basic safety? :-(

This cracks me up! My mom got busted while I was in the nursery at the hospital talking about how beautiful my tan was compared to the other babies. I was jaundiced!! (Aka totally fine, just a little tan). But it makes me laugh every time she tells it! I can just see her there talking about other people's babies.... [-X
Anyone else having a hard time "relaxing" in the bath? How the heck am I supposed to take a relaxing bath when I can't get comfortable and I feel like a stuffed pig?
Should I bring some extra towels in there with me tonight and try to finagle something? Lol

If you wiped while holding him... That is true talent.

Haha! Yes! You're my new best friend! C-A-T-S CATS CATS CATS! I think it's a wildcat fan tradition to have a ton of UK onesies. Boy or girl, LO will cheer for blue!

This is getting ridiculous.
I have the shallowest tub. For real. The one time I tried to take a bath, after I climbed in and the water finished running thru the overflow preventer thing (you know what I mean, the big round metal thing with an opening on the bottom that water drains thru until its below that level) the water level wouldn't even cover my crotch when I laid in the tub. That meant there wasn't even enough water for my ass, hips, and front. I know I have a big ass but it is not THAT big. Putting my fingertips on the bottom of the tub, holding my hand straight up, part of the palm of my hand stuck out of the water.
Needless to say, once we win the lotto, there is a bathroom / tub remodel in the future.

Those overflow drain things are no joke. I flooded the ceiling once because water kept sloshing into the overflow and it couldn't handle the amount of water. lol
Your tub sounds so lame! I'd set up a baby pool in my bathroom lol.
I LOVE the "if I won the lotto" game! I make my hubby play it with me all the time.
I just bought Choco tacos, ice cream sandwiches, and strawberry shortcake bars... Would it be bad if I ate one of each? I only have the pregnancy excuse for 2 more weeks! Live it up, Right?!
My step brother just got engaged to a girl he's been dating for 2 weeks and I asked him why. He said "YOLO". He was serious :-?
Omg. My bro did that with a girl who he dated for two months and she was a minor!! Thankfully, it didn't last. But the girl still messages me saying she wishes things would have worked out between them and that she will always think of DS as her nephew. Like what?! I didn't even know you!!
