Hi everyone :)

I'm 6 weeks with baby no 2, and have experienced some spotting and cramping?

I never had this the first time round, and I'm just a bit worried!
I've been really ill all week with tonsillitis, so have been on a lot of medication to try and get over it. (Cocodamol and penicillin) this was prescribed by my doc and I was assured it was safe for me to have when pregnant.

Bleeding started after being on medication for a couple of days. Ended up in a&e last night where they did bloods and a urine test (all confirmed i'm still pregnant) but don't go for a scan until tomorrow. :( just panicking! Any advice from others who have been through the same?! Xxx

    I started bleeding with my second pregnancy also at 6 weeks and again at 13 weeks. (I never did with my first.) I lost almost 2 cups of blood one night and thought I had miscarried. Come to find out I had a tear in my placenta. Just lots of rest and no heavy lifting. I now have a healthy 14 month old. It is a very good sign about your blood work and such !. I would suggest taking it easy and drink lots of water. I was told by my doctor that it can be common in the first trimester for spotting to occur. I am now pregnant with #3 and no spotting so far but I understand how scary it can be! I hope all goes well and keep us updated! ! :) Good luck!

    I have way more cramping earlier on this time around. It's got me a bit nervous too. I know penicillin is safe, no idea what the other drug is. I think it's just coincidental that these things started after you started taking medication. I know it's hard, but try not to worry. FX for you!

    Thank you everyone. It's really appreciated. Just trying not to get too worked up about it! :/ I did another pregnancy test at home earlier this morning too just to double check, and all was okay. Find out 9am tomorrow morning. Fingers and toes crossed our little jelly bean is safe!! X
