This has to be a joke?! Although i have been invited to a shower where cash for a group gift was collected and the maid of honour put a minimum you could give right in the invitation. In our area presentation is common and we have been to a wedding where the mother of the bride opened the envelopes and would say into a mic "mr & mrs name gave 50$" as the people greated the bride and groom.
Wow the nerve of some people just shocks me! If I received something like this I would probably throw it in the garbage and then head to the dollar store to buy the tackiest cheapest gift I could find.
Disgusting. Also, I'm glad we didn't all see this sooner. I feel like some of the people posting the more entitled threads about showers may have jumped on this bandwagon.
I saw someone on facebook who was having a "virtual" baby shower, under the guise that since friends and family lived far away, it was easier to just make a facebook group and call it a shower.
How about no! I'm feeling really sassy today..so while I'm in my I don't give a crap mood that's stupid, tacky, and I'm judging the crap out of whoever thought that it was ok. [-X

Wow seriously!? That's tacky... I've heard of virtual showers for mama-to-be's that are in the military or army and are stationed over seas so they're family can still celebrate but even then it was a huge google chat video party and it was just her immediate family that did it.

I like this feisty side! And I completely agree with you!
