I say stop & tough it out this doesn't make you a bad mommy I hate when people try to say that like no it doesn't me and my boyfriend use to live in a state where its okay for recreational use but when we found out I was pregnant he wouldn't let me pick it up at all he doesn't even smoke it around it anymore. But I'd be careful with the midwife because they can run drug tests when your baby is born and take the child into custody because you had drugs in your system thats my only worry for you. But if its legal where you stay & there is no law about it then you have all rights to do what you want.
You are extremely judgmental and rude! You sre clearly uneducated on medical marijuana ! Marijuana is safer than alcohol which is legalized by your government. If you decide to educate yourself look at statistics of alcohol vs marijuana. No documented cases of Marijuana causing deaths, cancer, fetal abnormalities, or anything else. Then look up how many deaths and fetal deformaties are caused by alcohol. Im not saying smoke pot but it could be worst she could be drinking alcohol. Im sure a lot of women on here have probably indulged in a glass of wine while pregnant. Hope your going to take their babies too ? The reason why marijuana is illegal is because your government couldn't figure out how to tax it and it also heals so big pharmaceutical companies would loose out on a billion dollar industry which in return pays the government. #ignoraceisbliss
No matter if a substance is legal or not, it can still be bad for a growing featus. How are you not getting this? Think of it like this: if your baby was here today and you held him/her in your arms - would you be ok with blowing smoke in his/her face? No? Then don't f-ing give it to them when they are in the uterus either! When you decided to become a mom, you decided to essentially sacrifice your body for the benefit of another human being. Now, that little human being has only you to protect it and trust you to make benefitial decisions regaring its health and well being.
Being a mom isn't easy. Pregnancy isn't all fun and games and glowing. Some people feel sick for 9 mo. Some have excruciating back pains. Some go on bed rest. But you suck it up and deal with it like a responsible adult, because you are the only person who can protect your baby from harm through the choices you make. And that means discusing your options with your health care provider and listen to their opinion.
I'm 21 weeks I still smoke because if I don't I can't eat and I throw up but when I smoke a bowl I'm good to go. I'm going to quit. I just don't know when or how it's really hard and a lot of people say it's not good for the baby. But do your research. I've read really good articles to how cannabis doesn't hurt the baby but rather help. But I do want to quit because when my baby comes I don't want it around her
I'm a mandatory reporter and just so you know, if I had more information, I would report you.
I work in substance abuse at an ER, and I recently met with a woman who insisted it was fine to smoke pot while breastfeeding because there was a research study that showed that rastafarian women (and children of the roots) do this all the time and their children turn out fine (fine, of course, is a matter of interpretation between our cultures. Jamaica has one of the highest levels of substance abuse and cases of addiction in the world). I have since read this study and subsequent research articles and here is what I would like to tell you: If you live in Jamaica, and you smoke Jamaican weed/hash/ganja/whateveyouwanttocallit, you can't be compared cross culturally to those in other areas of the world- particularly where marijuana isn't ever present or monitored. If you live in the US and purchase your weed legally or illegally - buyer beware. We have absolutely NO WAY of knowing what is comprising the strain of thc you are ingesting. We simply don't have a culture here where thc is monitored and available in a transparent way. In other words, you have no idea what the levels of thc are that are being transferred to your baby. For all you smokers of weed, you are still inviting incredible toxins into your lungs, which means into babies lungs. For those enjoying your edibles - you are exposing your child to unknown compositions of hash.

@mjenkins317 I hope you are prepared to talk to Child Protective Services. Since you are still smoking your child will have pot in its menocium.
So you don't want your baby around pot when she is born but you are pushing it into her lungs now? You might want to check your logic.

Please link the articles you have read on this, I'm curious.
This seems very dangerous for your unborn child. There are/can be toxic things in any illegal/uncontrolled or monitored substance. IMO it's selfish. While morning sickness and this pregnancy so far has been TOUGH, I would never choose me feeling Better temporarily for that risk. There's a reason why CPS may have an issue with it...
Every one is going to say one thing or another. Thc is passed through the placenta but there is NO evidence ANYWHERE that says it harms your baby. No one has ever had a miscarriage or had birth defects from cannabis. Smoking does deprive your baby of oxygen and does more harm then good. Eating small amounts of edibles, I prefer a muffin or cookie keeps nausea away completely and will allow you to eat. My Dr in California recommended me to do this because I could not eat without getting sick. Don't listen to all the moms out there who haven't done their research. Look it up yourself and see the results. Cannabis will NOT harm your baby but smoking could cause problems in the future. Vaporizers are also a good alternative if you don't have access to edibles. My baby is healthy and growing exactly how she needs to be and I've used cannabis throughout my entire pregnancy. I would never harm my baby girl so take it from me when I say it is safe in these forms. Good luck!
You should of known posting this would get a lot of hate from moms who know nothing about weed. But there's is nothing that links smoking pot to any troubles with the baby. But I would not smoke within the last 3 months because they drug test you when you give birth.

That's great that your baby is healthy now, but you have no idea what the long term effects are, why risk it? Also, take it from you? Are you a doctor? Have you done studies on this? Why should we 'take it from you' random internet stranger?
Re: Cannabis for the queezy
This has GOT to be a fking joke. Really ??
:-?Stop being rude. OP is simply looking for advice from other mums or mums-to-be and really doesn't deserved to be vilified.
