Thanks, Mel. I really appreciate you being my go-to cat lady. Yuv you so much right now.
No worries! Just remember - they eat meat, lick their butts and their whole bodies, or their feet - which have been in the litterbox, which is full of fecal matter and urine particles even if you scoop every single time - hardly ever get baths, and never brush their teeth, so their mouths are NASTY.
Hugs to you and Izzy cat! Hope she is settled down now. Also, if her tummy is hurting that may also make her extra punchy.

Just threw up in my mouth a lil bit thinking about this, haha. She came back around to cuddle me not long after and I've been ignoring her as punishment for her bad behavior. At this point, I wish I really COULD speak to animals so I could be like, "HEY, you are safe at this house, too. And you hurt Mommy. Want to hide from everyone? Okay, that's fine. Let's go hide."
DH had to convince me that she'll be fine around baby, and that it's this unfamiliar house that had her freaked out and hissy/biting. First time I've been truly worried about introducing her to our child. She hasn't attacked me like this in years and years.
Hand isn't looking swollen at this point, just scabbing up. Jerk cat. Still feel bad for her, and she was the one that was an asshole, lol.
@Westypet I'm sure it was her unfamiliar surroundings. Possibly coupled with a nervous tummy since she has had so many tummy issues. And you probably happened to brush a random stray hair at just the perfect direction and perfect moment and you frightened her. A little perfect storm of misadventure. I'm one of those people who believe that while yes, SOME pets are not safe around babies, MOST pets somehow know what not to do around babies. They are either on good behavior, protective, or utterly ignore the LO. If you take baby and Izzy to moms house tho, it may be better to not have her cuddle with baby, just in case
It's not Friday but if these randoms can post brand new threads about their very common symptoms.... I can post a picture of my fur baby. Come on now....we all know we love our pets more than most people anyways Anywhoos...this is me and my fur baby yesterday. He was in the middle of throwing a fit because dad walked into the store and didn't take him. And yes I'm doing a duck face...sue me lol
I have had my ups and downs with my fur baby, Izzy the black kitty, but she's so precious to me. She's curled up on my leg under the covers right now, and making cute cooing/purring sounds.
My heart is so full. What is going to happen when we add a BABY to this scenario? I'm going to melt into a puddle of goo.

:x Fun used to sleep under the covers with me.
I'm looking forward to seeing all of our fur babies bring our LO's into their 'packs' or 'prides' and have those precious moments with them. I'll probably die from the cuteness
Brought Izzy to in-laws for an overnight farm visit and pool day. She is a real scaredy cat and doesn't adjust well to new places, but she's done fine for the last two visits.
We're on the couch (I'm miserable and hurting anyway), she's cuddling beside me. Well, she spooks and attacks me, hissing and biting me. Hand bleeding like crazy. I locked myself in the bathroom to gauze up my hand and bawl my eyes out.
I'm over stabby, and just raw at this point.
80% of cat bites get infected and should be treated before signs of infection appear actually. The antibiotic is pregnancy friendly. I would call your OB or see your PCP soon. Saw a nasty one on the leg yesterday.

Even if it's basically healed up at this point? No redness/pinkness whatsoever?
But, I'm not a cruel person. Once you're done with the video, check this out for some hilarious cat pics and a few gifs. OR, just click this link only and save yourself the Kleenex
@mellymar yup. I cried. Ugh....even when I'm not pregnant I cry at sad animal videos (
I refuse to watch this sad video!! Are you trying to kill me?? @mellymar
Then just look at the cat sneezing pics on the link beneath. The video is for those who want to self inflict a cry. You know how sometimes you KNOW if you do something you'll cry, have the opportunity to avoid it, but then go ahead and do it anyway? Its like that. The cat sneezing pics beneath are hilarious, tho

Okay... sneezing is acceptable and will not lead to the dark side....
I can't watch it if I cry my eyes burn so bad at the beginning. Plus I miss my puppy he doesn't live with me anymore...I cry every time I visit him. Man I wish he was here now.
