When can I have a baby shower?

I'm due 10/17. I want to have the baby shower now if it was up to me. I'm excited and want to set up the baby room like now. Is there a time period that is to early to have a baby shower?

Your post is a bit confusing, I'm not sure if it's a type or what but the answer is it's really it's up to the host to pick and plan the shower although they may run a couple dates past you. Most people have it somewhere in the beginning weeks of 3rd Tri.

I'm with the previous poster - it's up to whoever is hosting. I really don't think there's a right or wrong way to do it though. Whatever is going to work for all of you.

I'm due the same day as you, and my host is throwing one on Aug 22. Mind you, I have to travel 6 hrs to be there so we needed to make sure it was early enough that I could still travel.

I'm due a few days after you. They say average is 28-32 weeks, but it also has to be a date that works for all involved! I'd feel weird having a shower now since I don't look very big! I picture a big round belly for the mama to be!

I wouldn't do it anytime before 24 weeks, just because I would prefer to be past the viability date. I would say anywhere between 28-36 weeks, but ultimately it's up to the hostess, since they are planning and paying for it.

My mother is having mine September 20th and I'm due October 15th. She's waiting for my aunt to get home on the 19th so she has extra help. However I'm hoping my aunt can come home a week earlier, because my son will be turning 4 on Sept 22, and that seems like a lot in that short amount of time.

I agree, there's not really a right or wrong time frame. I am due Oct 5 and having the shower on July 11th. Relatively early but It was the best date for everyone involved

That's awesome my birthday is on Sept 22 I should have them throw mines on the 20th because the person throwing it is letting me select the date.

I know it doesn't seem like it, but you have plenty of time. I had mine at 32 weeks and had plenty of time to prepare for baby. Check with the host to see what they'd like, too, just out of respect for their schedules!

I already had one, and am having another one this weekend. I love across the country, and will only be home for this weekend, until after my babies come. I think my friends here will have one for me at the beginning of August. I'm afraid of being on bed rest or having my twins early, so I'm all for the earlier, the better.

Do whatever will work for u and whoever is hosting. Having mine mid August I'm due 10/8. As far as baby room goes il already have it painted well before shower and have a crib. I'm anxious too don't worry your not the only one. Bought outfits already.

I had the baby shower 7/25 my grandmother from Florida came so we planned it around her since this will probably be the last great grandchild she will meet. They also gave me 1 at work on 7/22. Hope everyone had great baby showers.
