  I'm having a planned c-section and tubal with this baby as it's our third and last.  I was not a good candidate for a VBAC and our hospital that I want to use doesn't allow them.  I can say the planned one was so different than my emergency one with DS1, which was awful and a pretty bad recovery.    I think deciding between the VBAC and the csection really depends on why you had the section the first time and what is best and safest for both mom and baby.

  I had a repeat section with dd2 and will with ds1.  I liked it with dd2, it was so calm and peaceful and just lovely. 

  Vey emotional, though my dh likened it to an oil change as you go in at your scheduled time, 2 hours before OR time, get your meds in, wheeled to the OR and boom you have your baby in your arms.  I was holding dd2 about 15 mins after she was born and got to hold onto her until she went to nursery.  I mean I held her all the way to the nursery.  It was just lovely.  DH was there the whole way and we're totally fine with scheduled for ds1 in September.  But that's us and VBAC was never on the cards.

  I wish you well in your decision making.  Has your doctor indicated if there would be any issues with VBAC?

  I had to have emergency c-section with first child and now have the decision between VBAC and scheduled c-section with this one. I asked all my friends who have had scheduled c-sections and they all say it's much easier than the emergency c-section they had before. So my plan is to have a date for c-section but if baby plans to come before that I will attempt VBAC. My hubby supports whatever I want to do. I'm actually more anxious about this delivery than I was with first child.

  I am not but just wanted to say that it's great he is supportive. You need to do what you are comfortable doing; it'll make for a much less stressful day.

  I have already scheduled my repeat. VBAC isn't in the cards and that's totally fine with us. We have no help here for DD1 and my husbands work schedule is too hectic. So my mom is flying in a few days before hand. And I would agree that it is a bit like a oil change which does make me a little sad but having a planned csection the first time around did not interfere with bonding and nursing.   We are doing a scheduled C Section this time. Last was an emergency C Sec and it was very emotional for me to accept. This go around I am happy to have an appointment for a baby. It does take a lot of the fun of waiting and possibility of going into labor but it will be much less stressful. I also have a really bad scar and my doc is really excited to remove it.
  
  I made my decision righ after DD was born to have a repeat though. Once one part of me was scarred I wasn't going to try for another part. Just my simple minded thought process.

  I will have a c-section also. My first was an emergency c-section, and I know what to expect from recovery. We haven't planned the date yet but have a hospital tour on Saturday.
