@westypet it seriously feels like there is a thunderstorm in my belly. This lady is rocking out or throwing a fit.please lord let it be less than 3 more weeks of this!!
@elruby I was so excited to see your baby announcement!! Get some rest! Your daughter is beautiful!
Does anyone have any advice for dealing with very painful cramps/pre-labor contractions? Every time I have one (about every 10 minutes) I want to cry. I took Tylenol but it hasn't helped. I went to L&D but was told they're not the real thing and I'm so upset. I don't want to deal with them anymore.
In L&D now, just got cervidil and my GOD did it hurt when she put it in. Either this nurse is the opposite of gentle or I'm a huge baby but I was yelping in pain. My cervix checks at my doctor were only mildly uncomfortable...now I'm having twinges and shooting pains in the cervix area. I hope I can sleep tonight.
@megtyrrell get into a very warm bath or a warm shower. It helps relax and dilate the cervix. I love using the shower as a labor tool and it also helps with contraction pain. You can use a heating pad on your back. Even though they sent you home it doesn't mean that your contractions are not real. They are early labor. Your body is still doing work. (Work son! ) lol
You can also try loading up on water. If they truely aren't "real" then hydration could get rid of them.
Due this coming Wednesday and couldn't be more ready to be done. Thought baby girl would appear this weekend but my contractions stopped after DH rescheduled his interview so very disappointed. His interview is now early tomorrow morning so I'm planting my butt in a chair and not doing anything to make her want to come til I hear he's heading home.
BIL has the day off tomorrow though and is my on call person if anything should happen and I need a ride. He even agreed to hang out with friends in town so I don't have to have people around since I'm feeling so antisocial.
I'm feeling really hopeful about Tuesday since it feels like she's moved a lot and my contractions are showing back up here and there.
@dirtymartini honestly..... It depends on the day how sensitive that area is ... I cried last night when DH put the EPO up near my cervix. But for the week before that I was fine..... Not sensitive at all. Maybe your nurse was a little rough. I know my dr is notorious for being rough....... I am requesting no checks until my 38-39 week appts. Hang in there! Wishing you a happy induction and easy labor lady!
I was scheduled for induction on Thursday but baby clearly has a mind of his own. Started contracting around 10:00. Threw up around 12 and told my husband I thought we should go in. Just got my epidural, and hoping for a nap. I'm 38 weeks and 4 days and wasn't even dilated last Wednesday. Crazy!

How far apart were your contractions?
I'm in a similar boat as you. Started contracting at midnight (between 4 and 8 minutes mostly and then started to spread out to 10 and 13.) and wasn't dilated at all on Thursday. 38 weeks, 4 days also!
@Serenamarr@Sparklydelite I know a lot of people swear by chiropractors, but I've never been to one and they honestly freak me out. My BIL has a doctorate in physical therapy and has always cautioned us to be careful with them (lots of my family members have back/neck issues). He does say they're like any other health care professional and some are good and some are bad, but I'm just super apprehensive about the 1st time I use one being pregnancy related if that makes sense at all.
@mellymar, I've tried the pool, but didn't do a head stand because there were bees swarming the pool and I was too big of a chicken to stick my feet out where I couldn't see. I may go grab an exercise ball on my lunch break today and see if that helps. I did read the chance of him flipping at this point is like 12% which doesn't give me much hope, but it's 12 more than 0.

I'm 38 weeks 4 days!!! Can I please steal some of that labor juju from you two?!?! @Westypet and @amccoy129?! I have an appt at 9:15 to check my cervix and to set a date for induction for this week. I'm hoping I just go into labor on my own today or tomorrow. Good luck ladies!!
@klkonwi Thank you so much for helping me. The hot water in the shower really helps and I'll go buy a heating pad at some point today. I keep worrying that if these aren't real contractions, what the hell do real ones feel like?! (And then I worry I won't be able to handle them lol) I'm also trying to drink more water today to see if that helps any.

I absolutely get it- this was my first time going to one since childhood. I never liked it and it freaked me out too, I'm not one for popping and cracking and sudden jerky movements. What my chiro did (Webster Technique) was not that. It was all pressure and holding certain spots and stuff. At first I was like...... Is this even doing anything? But lo and behold it did. Even though it worked for this situation I'm still not converted. Aka probably won't go after pregnancy- I've been fine up til now without it.

@klkonwi, I got your message, sent you one back.
