Summer Shoes

Have yall found good summer/sandaly shoes, particularly for boys? The only ones I can find anywhere are really thick soled, and LO can't like stand up or move around easily in them. He's still not walking, but very very close, so he's gonna need more shoes I think. The ones he does best in are all closed toe, and I think they're too hot! Any recommendations?

Re: Summer Shoes

  • I want to know this too! Poor lo's feet get so sweaty in socks and shoes when we are out at the park, etc.

robeez! They make them with leather soles which is great for new walkers as their feet continue to develop. they make them with holes/vents on the side. It's all DD wears.

  • I have bought my son several pairs of shoes. The best ones that he has as far as walking are navy blue sandals from target. I cannot remember the brand. But it was in the actual shoe section not the baby section.
  • Thanks yall! @ksulli, that's exactly what I've been looking for!
  • My DD has two pairs of Toms they are nice cause she can wear them out socks and they have good support she also has a pair of Granimal sandal type shoes that are good..... I'm sure they make them in boys
  • I found crocs on amazon (size 2-3) for $15. Perfect sandals and can be rinsed and dried easily

  • LO's not walking yet, but I bought him a pair of $4 sandals at Walmart. Sometimes he just goes without shoes! If he starts walking, I might have to get him a better pair and some water shoes too. I like the croc idea!
  • I first got him some from StrideRite. They look like the normal shoes but have some cutouts in them. I was scared to put him in open toe since he just started walking and I didn't want him to trip. They work fine, however, my DS has such sweaty then stinky feet in them! So gross! So I just got him a pair of open toed ones from Carter's and he is walking great in them.
  • My DS wears Keens a lot, and has a pair of the blue target closed toe sandals someone else mentioned above. Both work great!

  • I love crocs for the park. When they get that sandbox dust on them that really grosses me out, I can just rinse them. For other time I have stride rites that have a fairly flexible sole: https://www.striderite.com/en/srt-ruben-sandal/12555B.html?dwvar_12555B_color=BB53530#cgid=view-all-baby-toddler&start=1
  • We just bought some keens, her feet were getting sweaty so it had to be done.
