Babies on the Brain

Can we talk breast pads? Exciting, I know.

Does anyone use a kind that doesn't make you look like a preteen with a stuffed bra?

  • I really like the lansinoh. I am really small and they didn't make it look like I had stuffed :)

  • I'll second the lanoisho (sp) ones, medela being a close 2nd.

The gerber/Nuk ones made me look like I had clogged them up w/ kleenex.

(although they just changed the lanisoh ones...they were better 6 months ago)

(and I've yet to find a cloth one that doesn't look lumpy...although the bamboozles I looked at might fit the bill if Buffy ever has a sibling)

  • I like the Lansinoh ones too. I soak through all my cloth ones. A friend made me a whole bunch of really nice cotton ones, I might as well not wear breast pads. Lansinoh all the way.

  • Nope. Of course, I'd settle for a sleeping bra or nursing tank that doesn't squash my boobies when they're the slightest bit engorged. Target xxl isn't cutting it. I have a feeling I'll have to go to Motherhood and pay out the ass.

I bought a Medela one today that I have on now and is quite comfy so far. It was under $20. And I'm guessing these Up&Up breast pads have to go huh?

I guess that's my UO for the day: BFing accessories suck.  The bras don't fit, the tanks are uncomfortable, and the pads are bulky and obvious.

    *sits down on your bench*

I don't *hate* BFin g(I didn't like it for quite a while, but it's gotten better), but I"m hoping I have Buffy mostly weaned (just day and night feeding) before I go through the 3 boxes of Lanishol pads in my cupboard (they were on sale, and they NEVER go on sale :-)

No way!  I seriously lived in Target nursing tanks for 8 months pp.  I slept in them, and wore them instead of bras.  I agree, nursing bras suck.

I love my target ones (although I need more.  The elastic has gone on them from overuse for te last year) but MIL bought me some from somwhere else--they're not comfy.  They give me GREAT looking cleavage but because they don't have 2 holes in the bottom layer (so the bewbs squish together) they just don't support right and they squish things wrong)

Crap. I'm guessing unless they make an XXL I'm SOOL.

Yes.  As a disclaimer, this was just my personal experience.  I'm a 34B and bought an XL (I think based on the chart on the packaging) and after the first wash, with line drying,  it was uncomfortably snug around my ribcage and was riding up a LOT.  They were so comfy until I washed them!

No way, the chart on the back put me in a large, unless it is a different style.

I just went and checked mine to verify the size and all of the text has washed off of them :-/

I just looked at the sizing on the package and it says 34B would be a small.

  • I second the gerber/nuk ones.

although, I always used whatever was on sale or my cloth ones if I wasn't leaking like a faucet because my bras are all thicker. I have always had "headlight" issues.
