@StephPegasus , you should totally come hang out with me at the new mommy group at Leominster hospital on Wednesday mornings after the babies are born . I'll only be able to go while on maternity leave, but I LOVED it last time I had a newborn.
I'll have to look into that. I'm seeing an OB at the hospital here in town but I've been having difficulty finding any kinds of support groups (ICAN, LLL, etc) in the area. Feels a little isolated, especially since all of our family is on the West Coast.
I'm in Methuen which puts me close to the New Hampshire ladies. @katieandmarco my mom is from Guilford but my grandmother was from Madison. I still wear her Hand high school ring.
@Life is Exciting , this is my first. I had a loss a year ago and everyone treated me so well through it that I'm already impressed with their service and care.
@selmiraterzic - I'm sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage before my successful pregnancy and it nearly broke me.
The nurses at Emerson were all amazing! The lactation consultant wasn't that great and I really hated the attitude of the anesthetist who did my epidural, but you really only see those people once or twice. The rooms are great. Hubby said the fold out couch in the recovery room was way more comfortable to sleep on than the one in L&D (I was induced overnight). I highly recommend the laboring tub of you get the chance to use it. It dropped my pain levels from an 8 to a 4 when I was laboring at 5cm dilated. I ended up with a csection in the end, but am hoping for a Vbac this time around and will definitely use the laboring tub and birthing ball again.
Oh by the way, I don't know if they still do it, but in recovery, they brought around a dessert cart at 1:00 every afternoon and hand out free desserts to you, hubby, and anyone who happens to be visiting at the time. They're soooo yummy.
I'm at concord obgyn! I was definitely interested in the laboring tub so I'm glad to hear it worked well for you! They know the way to a woman's heart with free dessert I guess . I hope your pregnancy goes well and smooth!
Re: Anyone here from New England?
I live in Western Mass, grew up in the hill towns and currently live in Greenfield.

Are you with AFA or Concord OBGYN?
