Bleeding/spotting

Hello gals,

I'm 7 weeks and 2 days pregnant today (June 5th). Earlier this week, I noticed some light pink-ish spotting.  The first day I noticed it, I had to look really hard for it. The next day was slightly more noticeable.  I just went to the bathroom and noticed a very short and thin strip of red jelly-like blood. Sort of like the period day 2 blood.  I'm pretty worried. This is my first baby and I really don't want to miscarry. My husband and I have been trying since January and talked about having kids for longer than that. Like I said, it was very short and thin. Maybe about the length of my pinky nail from left to right and about half as thick as my fingernail tip (the white part).

I don't know what to do. It's 7pm in Chicago now and I think my OB is closed already but I also have not seen her yet.  My first appointment with her isn't until July 16th.

    Call your OB's office anyway. Most have an on-call nurse or doctor that can give you some guidance on what to do next. They may want to send you to L&D to get everything checked out. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. I had similar spotting at the beginning of my pregnancy and it was because my cervix was low and sensitive, and not because there was anything going on with the baby. Good luck!
