Mine too. I started and gagged. My husband said he would do them this morning ;)

Car shopping this weekend and I really don't want to go! I just want to lay by the pool and not do anything on my to do list. But I do want a new car with AC, this Houston heat is just starting. Yesterday's 45 minute drive with slow traffic in 93• heat almost made me lose my mind!
  • I'm at work.  And I want to be home.  Chilling out.  Binge watching Netflix.

I have a baby shower this weekend. I don't want to go. I know how selfish that is, and I can't help it.

I'm with you! I've got one that someone is having in 2 weeks, OUTSIDE in the middle of the afternoon (90+ degree weather!!!). What a great idea for a pregnant lady (obviously her more than me, but seriously my ankles are swelling just thinking about it!)
  • I feel like I'm about to get crucified for this one, but here goes.

I'm beginning to show already and I'm not thrilled about it at all. I wouldn't say I've "popped" yet, but I don't understand why almost everyone on this board is obsessed with looking pregnant. I have until November and baby is going definitely grow - baby, could you not give 3-5 more weeks?

I feel the same way! I'm trying to go as long as I can with out showing.
  • I've been milking this pregnancy a little because I am just so so tired. I was a warrior last time and worked until the night my water broke at 40+3 but I'm just so tired and don't feel like pushing through anymore. We own our own business and our 1 yo doesn't consistently sleep through the night (I've always been the one to get up with him) so I show up late sometimes although I'm still here 50+ hours a week. I definitely have DH lift the kid as often as possible and slack on the couch when I'm not working or doing chores. Sorry not sorry.

    I want a fucking doughnut.
Yup. I tried really hard to allow extra time on my drive to work this morning so I could pick up some to share (because I'm working with my fave colleague today not my PITA boss) but FUCK YOU Massachusetts drivers, you have to be all stupid and it takes me 45 minutes to get in so no doughnuts for baby. Damn I want a Boston Creme. And maybe to try one of Dunkin's new Chips Ahoy 'nuts. For science, yo.
Also love tits to spelling it d-o-u-g-h-n-u-t-s.
  • I keep arguing with people about my "bump". People keep thinking I have one and I'm arguing I dont, that it's just blub and I have not popped yet. They keep giving me these "you're crazy looks". People, if you touch my belly now there's no baby there...so to me that = not a baby bump. Maybe I'm in denial, or just being annoying I dunno.
Today it's definitely a donut bump, lemme tell ya.

Also, can't stand ppl asking me the, do you think it's a boy or a girl question. I DON'T KNOW! It's one or the other, just today I started feeling the baby more so no I have no clue.

Definitely a UO, but I feel the opposite.  I'm at 18 weeks and not showing.  I'm in that stage where my pants don't fit and I look chubby instead of pregnant.  I'm getting the side eye from other pregnant ladies at work and having to listen to my family making "jokes" about my body.  A guy the other day came up to me and asked if I had suffered a loss.  (It turned out that his wife had recently miscarried and he was looking for support, so I didn't bite his head off but wtf.)

I really really hate how (especially during pregnancy) women's bodies become topics of acceptable conversation.  You wouldn't dare hear someone talking about T&A or the weight of a non-pregnant co-worker, but as soon as that woman gets knocked up her body is public property and open for comment.

    ------

YES!!!! I'm 18 wks, and have literally had people tell me "I hate you" when I tell them how far along I am. Had this happen last pregnancy as well. I'm like, I'm sorry that my body doesn't look exactly the way you want it to? Especially as I'm really not THAT far along yet. I usually just awkwardly change the subject... I'd love a better response if anyone has suggestions, though!!
  • @VexyMommy I'm right there with you on that. Women's appearances in general is not a favorite topic of conversation for me. "she's too fat, she's too skinny, oh good for her she's a 'real woman' cause she has curves, blah blah blah"
Just STFU everyone about all of it.

Also I get super annoyed with the women who constantly compliment other women on superficial things like fashion, hair, and whatnot. I don't need anyone to approve of my appearance. Even if it's positive. "I like your hair, cute outfit, etc" ummmm I didn't ask your opinion....
Also don't ask me "is this outfit okay?" or "do you like my hair?" because I don't give a shite about your appearance either! And what kind of poor insecure adult woman needs another's approval on a damn wardrobe selection. FFS.*

*I know you're all thinking I'm a raging b***h now but I'm actually a pretty nice person. I just smile and nod a lot while visualizing banging my head on the wall ;)
  • I feel the little one move more shortly after I eat something high in sugar. I've been using this as a mental excuse not to eat as healthy as I had hoped I'd be during pregnancy because I love it when I can feel him move!

  • @VexyMommy I'm sorry for the doughnut comment earlier, that was insensitive of me :( I hope your blood sugar figures itself out soon!

No problem and no offense taken.  I completely understood and appreciate the sentiment behind it.

OMG!!! THIS. All of this. My baby is pushing up my ever present beer belly, and making it more prominent, which I am SUPER self conscious about. My co-workers keep talking about my "bump" and how cute it is that I'm showing, I know where my baby is hanging out and it's about 5-6" lower than where they think he is and when I explain this to them, they tell me I'm crazy and they know what they're talking about. What? Shut up!

So yesterday I got a glimpse of what my life is going to be like in about 10 years and it scared the crap out of me.  I had to fill in and teach the pre-teen girls during their recital rehearsal yesterday, which was also the last day of school so they were extra hyper, giddy, and goofy.  I swear they were high on pixie sticks or something.  Shreeking and giggling and all awkward and weird and gossipy.

How am I going to live with two of those?  Gah.

  • This is a gross confession. I have these cute sneakers that I stepped in dog poop in while taking out my roommate's dog. That was the week I got sick and for the past 10 weeks they've been sitting outside by the door because I gag when I even think about cleaning them. I begged my bf to do it, but he didn't bite. I'm thinking about throwing them away so I don't have to see them anymore.

Lets not even go there because it makes me sad when I think my son and these two won't be sweet anymore.

Not yet.  They're working to get me in but I can't take off work until next Friday unless it's an emergency.  The doctor doesn't consider this an emergency.  I really need the money after I took off most of the week about 2 weeks ago when I had those cramps and contractions.

Ugh! I hope the sugars stop being a jerk until then. Not to pry but are you getting enough protein?

I believe so, although probably not much since this morning.  I didn't have breakfast or lunch prepared and ate at McD's for both meals.  I stayed within my carbs, but it's crap food.  I did great last night.  We had tuna patties (canned tuna, onions, carrots, celery, little garlic, crushed wasabi peas, oats, splash of lemon juice, some spices and a little mayo) with a slightly runny egg on top.  4 patties and 3 eggs.  It was awesome.

This weekend I'm making some sausage egg and spinach muffins so I can grab one or two and go for breakfast.  I will also be making some pulled chicken or pork barbeque for lunches at work.

  • Another confession from me today, I'm feeling chatty. SO is 10 years older than I am and we've been dating for four years. I'm 22. I really get a kick out of explaining to people that pursued him and watching their facial expressions switch from barely concealed horror to morbid curiosity. It's also funny that women typically look more horrified than men and that men typically high five my SO when it comes out how much younger I am.

I had people asking about SO at work this morning and all this happened, minus the usual comments my SO gets since he wasn't present.

FYI I just learned you can shred meat with a mixer! It's saving me soooooo much time and energy, I had to share.

I am 33 and DH is 8 years older then me. I have always been attracted to older men. I remember those reactions when I was younger. For me anyways, the older I get the less people care about the age difference.

DH is going to be 60 when this LO graduates high school. It is freaking him out a little bit.

I'm about to be completely and utterly ridiculous and childish. So move along if you can't stick with me here for a sec. Okay so there's this really, really weird awkward girl on my Facebook who has known my husband since high school. She added me and I was like eh, whatever. She is about 7 weeks pregnant with her boyfriend of 5 months I believe. I mostly post funny pregnancy related things (like the other day I posted a funny meme about being in 2nd trimester and not having my glow yet.) she literally takes my post and copies it WORD FOR WORD. And everything she posts is followed by #hashtag baby #7weeks #preggolife and I'm like...beyond annoyed with this! I also posted about it being national donut day, and that I've beeen craving donuts since day 1, and she posts right after saying "happy national donut day, my baby is craving them so bad!" I'm being ridiculous. But if you saw this girl and the things she posts...its like, shoot me. But I don't want to unfollow her at the same time because she's kind of a train wreck. #imgoingtohell
Oh I love facebook train wrecks. I typically just hide them when the stupid gets too much to see on a daily basis. Then I may or may not creep their pages when I have a bad day.

#preggolife? Are you fucking kidding me? I was really into fitness/losing weight before getting pregnant, but your "friend" there may have found something more stupid looking than #fitness#girlswholift#girlswithmuscles. I didn't think it was possible.
