37+4 appointment today. Dr. says at next appointment we can talk about an induction date for the following week! He said everything looks great for 37+4: baby's head is down approx station -2, 50% effaced, soft, fingertip dilated. I'd thought I felt a little more "open" down there so it was nice to have the validation I was really feeling something. Hopefully I'll go into labor naturally at 39 weeks, if not induction will be scheduled near my due date without going over. I'm pretty excited because at last the birth seems to be getting closer. I'm really not feeling motivated to do anything but drink icy things and sit in the sun...still gotta go to work 6 more days though!
39 week appt today. Dilated at a 3, she didn't say how much effaced I was but last week I was at 50%. She also did a membrane sweep So hopefully that progresses things. Also set an induction date for 6/9. So we will see how it goes!
Had an appt today at 39+5 dr said I was 1cm and 50% effaced which is what I've been the past 3 weeks. I asked him about when we should start thinking about an induction even though I'm in no hurry to be induced (I've had a very easy pregnancy and actually enjoy being pregnant!) and dr said they don't want me going past 41 weeks so I have an appt to be induced next Wednesday! Kind of freaking out right now because before it was just "oh I'll probably go late" but now there is a definite day and in less than 6 days we'll be a family of 4! I'm really feeling the pressure now and I also feel like there is soo much to be done and not enough time to do it! Damn hormones making me all crazy....
Had my 36+6 appointment today. My blood pressure is continuing to creep up, despite my blood pressure meds being increased gradually. So, my doctor has put me on the induction list. Basically, I can get a call at any time (though within a week at the most) to come to the hospital for an induction. I was NOT expecting that news today.
Freaked out right now. Obviously, I knew the baby would be coming within the next few weeks but when you can count down that time in mere DAYS it's a bit more real.
@jennlun that's exactly what I'm feeling! When I called my mom to tell her about the day and how I was freaking out she said "well you didn't think you were going to be pregnant forever-you knew you were going to have the baby!" And yes I knew I was going to have the baby that's the whole point of being pregnant but when you have that tangible day and you can count down to the day it makes it seem so much more real especially single digit days!!
So now 39 weeks and still a two he said the reason cervical checks are so rough is because my babies head is so low anyone else heard this or am I being a wimp?
The head can be so low, that the opening to the cervix is behind it... So when they reach in its all head covered with cervix, and they have to go under and behind and try to find the opening... That's the best way I can try to describe it ..
39 week check today, unfortunately nothing changed since last week. 2cm dilated and 50% effaced. Doctor did another membrane sweep, I'm not sure if it's because last week I got it done by a different dr since mine was out of town but the sweep today definitely hurt a lot more! I started cramping immediately and bled this time. My doctor doesn't think I'll make it to my next appointment next Thursday but we'll see !
Just back from my 40 week exam. Looks like I'm fully effaced and starting to dilate. Doctor said, literally, "*No one can predict when you'll go into labor*... But my guess is you'll have the baby this weekend." !!!!
Having regular contractions every 10 minutes per the NST (sweet, sweet validation!). Instructed to go to hospital on Sunday for NST if no baby by then. Doctor pretty sure I'll have a baby by Monday, but if not, I'm supposed to call and come in Monday or Tuesday. Today is EDD.
@virginiaunicorn11 that effacement is the most important part! I'm so excited for you!! Most people don't start labor fully effaced so that just means you'll be ready to go. Hoping those contractions kick in and LO is out here soon. Good luck.
TTC: 1/2014
BFP: 9/24
EDD: 6/8/2015
Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.

This explanation sounds exactly like what may have been happening with me yesterday. Doc had told me baby was "LOW" and then also told me she had to "reach up" to feel the cervix and made this kinda wavy reaching gesture with her hand. Thanks for the question, @mjschenk and the answer @HayesRN13 I was actually wondering about this last night!
Went for my 37 week appointment this morning (36 +6 today) and found out he's breech and pretty big. I go back next Thursday to see if he's still breech and if so decide if I want to go to the hospital after appointment and try an version which may or may not work to flip him. She said it could break my water and send me into labor. Even if it does work, he could flip again before I go into labor. My other option is if he's still breech on Thursday is to schedule a c-section for 39 weeks. She recommended swimming to see if he would flip on his own, but I really don't know what to do
Had my 38w1d apt yesterday. Doc wrote me a prescription for wraps for my wrists, she said that untreated carpel tunnel during pregnancy can increases the likelihood that you'll struggle with it later in life. Joy! Lol
She suspects baby is around 6lbs, head is still down. I opted out of a cervical check because last week at triage they told me I was 3-4cm dilated and 75% effaced, so I already know things are progressing.
I personally hate versions because I hate watching my patients in pain. If you don't have an epidural before (ours do not) because our pt go home 2 hrs after and if not successful schedule a c section for 39 wks. They are painful.
They are successful for some and for some not so much. Is he frank breech or just transverse? That makes a difference as well.
If our hospital gave out pain meds Before I would be all for versions ! But it's a huge decision that you and DH will have to mull over.
39 week appointment yesterday. Went in at 1:30pm after having contractions all morning at about 5-12 mins with brief periods at 20 mins apart. The contractions were all over the place on the pain scale though. Some feeling more BH and others stopping me to brace myself for the discomfort. Also had some watery discharge the night before and that morning. It was lining up to be a more exciting appointment.
Saw the nurse and BP was fine, urine was fine, etc and told her about my symptoms so far that morning. Doc came in did my measurements and progress checks. Baby's HR was fine, measured fine, and I was at 4 cm and 70% (up front 3 cm last week). She could feel the baby's head and checked to make sure my membranes were still intact, which they were.
Doctor mentioned she was going to discuss an induction date at this appointment just to get us on the list at the hospital but said with my symptoms and progress at that appointment, she wanted to wait until Monday before setting the induction date. She had a good feeling that the baby may come this weekend. Stinks that my doc will be out of town for the weekend but my SIL's doctor is on call so that makes me feel better. Heard many great things about her doc as well.
Unfortunately, progressed stalled over night and today little action going on. Still have 2+ days until Monday though so we will see what happens. Happy though that I am still progressing in the right direction, albeit slowly.
Had my 40 week appt on Wed June 3rd (due date), and I've finally made some progress! She said I was 1.5 cm, nearly 2. She stretched my cervix some and stripped my membranes. She didn't even tell me she was going to do that or ask me about it, which was probably for the best. But I will say that I really didn't find it painful, just a lot of pressure. She warned me that I would spot after, but that it was fine and just coming from my cervix. So far, almost 48 hrs later, it hasn't started any contractions for me, but I've definitely been losing pieces of my mucus plug since then.
Also had an ultrasound, and they're estimating baby girl's weight at 7lb 5oz (not a scary number at all, hurrah!). She has plenty of fluid and is in the perfect position for delivery, head down and facing my back. The ultrasound tech kept saying that the baby was REALLY low, she had to really push on my pelvis and try a couple different times to get a head measurement. So maybe that means she's dropped?
Since everything looked so good and my BP is still fine, and since I prefer to avoid an induction if possible, she's giving me until 42 weeks. Scheduled an induction for June 17 (exactly 42 weeks) if we make it that far, but she felt pretty confident I'd go into labor before then. My 41 week appt is scheduled for next Thursday, and they'll do another ultrasound with biophysical profile at that point, unless labor starts before that.
Omg I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the cervical checks hurt! I thought I was being a baby & there was no way I could handle labor.
Completely agree! I've had checks weekly since 36 weeks (so 4 times now), and the first one was horrendous. So, so painful! They've gotten easier each time, and this week I really didn't feel any pain with the check, just pressure, and my dr even took longer and stretched out my cervix some too. I'd been told the checks would get easier as you progress, and it's definitely been true for me!

They don't give pain meds. Ugh I just want someone to tell me what to do. They didn't say whether he was frank or tranverse and in my panic I didn't think to ask. Grrrr.
@KarasTwin I know you had different plans than a c-section, so just a note that I'm thinking of you and hope LO turns
Thanks! I have a headache now and can't focus at work. I don't know what to do. I know it's not the worst case scenario but I still don't like it.
No, it's not. I don't know if I'd be willing to do a flip procedure based on how painful it sounds, especially if baby could flip. :-/
Is there a deadline on these procedures?
They just told me they'd check me next Thursday and if he's still breech and I wanted to do the procedure I would go straight to the hospital. If I don't want to, they'll schedule the c-section for 39 weeks. I'll be 37 + 5 next Thursday, and if I decide to do the csection I guess they'll do it a day or 2 before I'm 39 weeks since I will be 39 weeks on a Saturday.
Just got back from my second OB appointment this week. My BP was up 150/90 and I wasn't feeling LO moving, they did an US and the sent me to the hospital for observation and blood work. After hours of waiting there they finally let me come home but now I am on BP meds to try and keep it down. Doc said based on how well they work will determine the conversation we have at my 39 week appointment on the 11th.

ETA : version, not inversion
