I tried to look up this topic in the search bar and didn't find anything so sorry if it has been discussed. I have found a lot of conflicting info about eating cheese, berries, and beans. Can I or can't I eat these while breastfeeding?

I had to avoid caffeine because it used to give my daughter excessive gas at night

I didn't restrict what I ate or drank at all with my first two while breast feeding.  My kids didn't seem to be noticeably bothered or affected by any food.

I avoided cabbage because my son got super fussy and cranky.

They say you shouldn't nurse within an hour of having a drink, but otherwise it's all fine.

Both my kids were sensitive to caffeine but otherwise I didn't avoid anything.

@jesselayne8  Can i ask how the sensitivity manifested itself? I have had a very fussy baby the last few days, which is also when I have had real coffee (I used to have a latte every once in a while and otherwise have one tea in the morning). Trying to figure out if this could be related.

Both kids would have an afternoon scream fest for 2-3 hours if I drank a diet coke. It was worse than the normal witching hour in that they weren't consoled by cluster feeding or bouncing etc.

Whatever foods/drinks that make you gassy will affect LO. I can't eat broccoli, cabbage, or cauliflower. And I only have dairy once a day or my LO has a blowout poop and gassy. But you have to learn your baby and how things affect them to best answer this.
