Here's mine: I think many pregnant women are far too whiny. Unless you actually have hyperemesis gravidarum, or have been put on bed rest, it's time to buck up. Being pregnant is hard, but being a mom is infinitely harder. I was surprised at the number of moms who have told work already because they're SO TIRED that they can't be good at their jobs anymore. No wonder women face so much discrimination in the workplace. I'm tired too, but I deal with it. And with my last pregnancy I was super sick, so I kept saltines in my desk and had to run to the bathroom to puke sometimes, but I kept working. I'm tired of women acting handicapped just because they're pregnant.

So there's my UO. I suspect it's pretty unpopular.

My UO being pregnant does make you whiny and it is hard. You feel like crap, look like crap and there is a person growing in there. No one else has to work when they are sick.....

Most people are only sick for a couple days, though. This is your new normal. Might as well get used to it.

bananers I agree! My husband keeps asking why I say I'm feeling pretty good, when I had bad cramps and have felt sick many days. I keep saying the exact same thing as you and I'm definitely a pull myself up by my boot straps and power through! Wallowing doesn't make me feel better AND after trying for so long for a baby - I feel like why would I complain? Some ladies have already miscarried and I still am blessed enough to have my precious gift.

I haaaate when people say they are eating for two. At most, doctors recommend adding 300 calories to your diet. Just because you are pregnant does not mean you can indulge in every bad food. Sorry, that's my UO

My UO is that abbreviations like UO, DH, LO, DS, SO, blah blah blah get on my last damn nerve. It takes me more time to look up what the heck those mean than the time it saves to abbreviate it. Hahaha!

I also agree about women whining being annoying. I had HG with DS and have had 2 m/cs. I'll just be glad if this one sticks! Being tired and sick is a good sign, ladies! And the last 3 months are a bear, so if you think this is bad..

My UO is that I think it's very stupid to announce to the world before you're out of first tri. A few close friends or family, sure. But I see a ridiculous amount of 5 weeks posting ultrasound pics on Facebook (which is a pet peeve of mine at any point - ew).

My uo is that I think it's pathetic how much attention Caitlyn Jenner is getting. People do this everyday and they're discriminated for it but because (she?) is a celebrity it makes news headlines?! No. If you wanna to be supportive of transgenders then stop lifting your nose up at the ones that are around you! They all need support,not just her!! I've seen people make fun of someone at a bar because they're different and then turning around and talking about how inspirational Caitlyn Jenner is. It's pathetic.

I, for one, will support any way you choose to live. Although I'm not gay myself, I don't have any sort of problem standing up for any LGBT around me! Some people make me sick the way they treat others.

YES!! Thank you for this! I don't understand these people who have taken multiple days off from work, cut their hours, considering quitting. It's called being a grown up. Everyone deals with it. I work overnight shift as a NICU nurse in a very large, very busy unit. I feel like crap at work all the time and regularly throw up while I'm there. I don't have the option of going home early, putting my head down, calling out whenever. I just have a drink, chew some gum and move on. Stop complaining!!! When the baby gets here it'll be so much harder.

Mine is also the Caitlyn thing. I'm sick of all of it being shoved down our throats. You want to be gay and you want to change genders that's great. It's your body, so do with it as you please. I'm just so tired of all the attention on this when there are bigger issues in the world. Make the choices in your life that works for you. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and decisions, and if we could all learn some respect and tolerance it'd be nice. Anyone heard of ISIS? I mean c'mon America!

One of mine is similar to a previous poster, telling the world your pregnant before your out of first tri, especially work. A close friend or two, sure, but otherwise, just wait. Another is thinking you can tell what the sex of your baby is based on heart rate, the ramzi or any of those other wives tale ideas. The only thing that can tell you is blood tests and/or ultrasounds.

Mine is when pregnant women say they're eating for 2 and when they let themselves go. Meaning not putting any effort in your appearance. Going with no make up and ultra big clothes will definitely make you look and feel sick if that wasn't how you were before getting pregnant. Eat well, not everything you see, and put extra effort to keep yourself up. Your poor husband doesn't want to look at that.

My UO is when people think that the only thing that we are allowed to make a big deal about in the world is important international issues. Yes, there are major crises in the world, but that doesn't mean that we can't talk about other things, about entertainment.

And in regards to the Caitlyn Jenner story, I think it's great that it's getting attention because that took her a lot of guts to do what she did publicly and after living a lie for so long. Imagine if it helps and inspires even one person to live their life the way they need to and to not be depressed or kill themselves! That is a huge deal. To that family and that person, that is even bigger than ISIS. There is still a long way to go before people are fully accepted like a pp said, some will say how beautiful she looks but then turn around and discriminate the trans in the bar. That is not ok but hopefully, by putting it in the spotlight, some people may change their opinions or open up a little more.

1000% agree with @ChipMonster. I hate that people are comparing it to soldiers fighting overseas. There are many different ways to be brave. I don't think that's a fair comparison.

I also think that there would also be a good deal of media attention over any gold medal decathlete who was transgendered. It's a human interest story. I say all of these things even though I hate the Kardashians TV show.

I have another,

I hate the word lurking. And I'm okay with seeing the same question 3 times. It just means people are using a community for questions. Just because they don't use the exact post you'd like for them to doesn't make them a horrible participant. It makes them a concerned person looking for answers. Chances are, if they're like me, they've searched everything there is to look up on Google but would rather hear from a real person.
And I personally think it's more selfish to be hateful towards another person for being concerned than it is to post something on a new thread that you may or may have not known was previously posted

@bananers I'm someone who told work right away, just because I work for a small business with no more than 4 employees on site at a time, only one bathroom, and one of the other girls is also pregnant. I just told them because it was easier than trying to hide it... I didn't tell work to avoid doing work and I think the women who do are obnoxious! We're not delicate little flowers! Buck up!

I didn't say it made them a horrible participant, but it is annoying. Yes, spotting is normal. Yes, headaches are normal, so are light cramps, no nauseau, all day nausea, and a million other things that come up every day. These questions don't come up three times, they come 300 times. It gets old if you spend a lot of time on the board as I do. And you can hear from real people if you search on here because it has literally been written about hundreds of times on this BMB alone. Yes, this board is here for support, but it's not Google and I shouldn't have to do the search for you. It's also here for community and entertainment and members should give as much as they get. Drive by posting about the same damn symptoms 300 other people reports is not giving back to the board. Trust me, everyone who has been on this board for a long time feels like this. Wait until you've been on the board a couple months. It will bore you too.

Just for the record, every time I see this I typically say something like "this is normal, you can read more stories about it on the daily symptoms thread". I think that's a nice way of saying it. Other BMB would flame those people hard. I know lots of people are still new so I try to be patient.

If you're not the one harassing other people, then good for you. I appreciate you. But it is not the end of the world for people who make it a big deal. You're right. You are not Google. I'm sure there are people who post obvious things like the ones you mentioned. But you know what I do? I just keep on scrolling. It does not ruin my day, it does not make me mad. I genuinely don't understand why I see women attacking other women for posting something more than once. I did not say that it was you, but there are some who have similar opinions as you who ARE doing it. This is not specific to the women on our group only unfortunately. I just spent a good 5 minutes reading app reviews about the Bump and apparently there's a history of bullying. Wish I would've read those before I signed up.

I don't really like animals. Not that I would ever hurt one or be cruel or anything, but I don't like being around them. Going to the zoo is a fun time, I guess, but it smells. We have a cat because DH is an animal lover, but I could do without ever having another pet.

I really haven't seen anyone really get "attacked" on this board. It has been insanely polite to the point where it's boring. I still lurk on the TTGP board sometimes just for entertainment!

This. I wasn't whiny at all with my first pregnancy, but to be honest, it wasn't that bad because I didn't work my first trimester and I was a FTM. Now that I have a toddler running around at home, I don't have the luxary of taking naps and for the most part have to suck it up and just deal with it when I'm sick. He's 16 months old, he doesn't understand that I feel sick all day, he just wants to play and have his normal routine/days.

Why is it such an annoyance to hear about other peoples symptoms?? Everyone has their own threshold for discomfort and pain. Its nice to vent to other women going through the same thing,(unless you are rediculously lucky and have no MS) . Quit telling people to buck up and keep scrolling .... Holy hormones , #RBF

I'm fine with symptom discussion. For me, it's more the people who claim they can't function like an adult because of morning sickness and tiredness. I just don't see how they're going to manage when it actually gets hard- like when there's a baby to take care of.

There's commiseration, and there's flat-out whining. People acting as if pregnancy is a disability instead of a normal human condition. Look, I had HG with my son and had a very public-facing job at the time. I get how miserable you can be. But I also understand that it's temporary, of my choice, and that a lot of women would kill to be puking their guts out if it meant they'd have a baby. So yeah. Complain for a second and then go on about your life.

I'm a STM and my 24/7 morning sickness is more difficult than my newborn was, which is saying a lot because he was colicky. I'm lucky to work from home, otherwise I probably would have missed a few days of work by now because I can't seem to move without needing to puke. I also get incredibly lightheaded and feel like I'm going to pass out if I'm on my feet for too long. If you haven't missed a day of work, good for you.

That said, the only people I have complained to are my husband and mom. I would never complain about being pregnant, just the symptoms themselves. Sometimes it's nice to get it out and have people who can commiserate.

Caitlyn Jenner is an inspiration. Heroes come in many forms and if she saves even one single transgendered child from commuting suicide, it was worth all the media attention IMO.

My UO: There seems to be a high number of douchey partners on this board. Why on earth would you choose to bring a child into this world with someone who is quite obviously a d!ck? Why would you even date someone like that? There are better men out there.

Ohhh yes! MH and I have a fantastic relationship and there were times where we were at each others' throats during the newborn stage. It's rough! What kind of freaking jerk is irritated that his wife won't cook or clean because she's puking from being pregnant with his child?!?
