I'm starting to get a little anxious about fitting in all of the things we have to do before the baby comes.
Not only are there "must-dos", but I want to enjoy this time before life changes so dramatically! Have some fun, maybe?
Anyone have plans for any fun things, social events, or date nights in this time pre-baby? (Or before your next baby comes?)
Bonus: How will you manage the "fun" with all of the crap symptoms most of us have been having lately?
Re: Last Days Before Baby: Doing Anything Fun?
My advice to you and other ladies that have a little while left is to go out for lunch with your girlfriends, stay in bed a little longer if you can still get comfortable and if your SO is willing to get takeout or go out for a meal then bite his fingers off!
If you're anything like me your anxiety will peak right before you're due and the only thing you'll feel comfortable doing are productive tasks: making freezer meals, laundry, excessive cleaning and then sleeping as and when you possibly can.
Hope you have some fun! The most I've managed is watching a few films, some beach walks & going to a food festival :-)
I don't know if that's what did me in, or if it is the lack of work to keep me focused. I'm one of those people that really need a task. But now I'm home (so is DH), and I'm way too distracted and exhausted to do anything. We try to get out of the house for a couple hours each day, take walks and whatnot. If I don't do that, I feel worse. But I expected to be at museums, zoo and botanical garden this week. Ah, well. The relaxation is nice.
This is Dear Diary, but wanted to encourage folks to get their fun in while you can. I personally did not think I would hit such a wall at 39 weeks, after having a smooth pregnancy. Going to the doctor on Friday for my 40 week check up is weighing on me - too exhausting.
While he's at work, I like to clean up around the house and make sure we're as neat and organized as possible for now. I like to go for walks and I visit my grandparents every few days. I've also been crocheting a blanket for LO and reading Outlander... So good. Also I'm waiting for a good pool day to break out my new bathing suit.
Before LO comes, I seriously need to get my hair done. It isn't red by default and my roots are REALLY popping through these days.
Normally I would drive 2 hrs to a bigger city to shop for distraction and visit family but I'm too uncomfortable to sit in a car that long. We just finished the registry online and now waiting for packages is my excitement! Lol
I've been making freezer meals and cleaning. DH and I take short country drives out to the farm to get me out of the house. I use this app like crazy and probably post too much in this community but eh..... There are worse things I could be doing.
I keep joking i should be traveling back to Long Island frequently so i can "accidentally" give birth at the hospital my mom works L&D at but I know I'm better off staying put here in jersey.
I just had a prenatal massage yesterday. Why did I wait so long?? It was wonderful and it was one of the best massages I've ever had.
I'm doing things today like getting my oil changed and car inspected since i think I'll be busy in July. I have been just wondering in little shops I've always wanted to go to and desperately waiting for a sunny day to hit up my friend's pool.
Now...just cleaning the house and doing some last minute organizing in the nursery.
My last day of work will be on the 16th. I have 3 vacation days that I need to use or loose by July. So I'll use my vacation days and then my scheduled c section is the 22nd and I'll start my 8 week maternity leave!
The first day "on vacation" I'll prolly do some light cleaning, laundry and meal preps. The second day, DH will pay hooky from work in the afternoon and we'll do lunch and a movie out. We haven't been on a date in ages due to DS#1. lol we don't have sitters to watch him or family around, so we're looking forward to an afternoon date. On the last and final day, I have an OB appt for a NST and a brow appt. I'll most likely get a mani/pedi as well.
Really looking forward to it!
~~~ EDD for Baby #2 6/28/15~~~~
I can't wait for date nights after baby arrives! Going out to dinner and drinks has always been our thing! I've been waiting for a margarita for 9 months!!!
I also tried to make sure all the bills were paid up like our mortgage and electric.
ETA BECAUSE MY PHONE POSTED BEFORE I WAS FINISHED TYPING.
Also went thrifting with a good friend looking for frames for nursery artwork, that was a fun afternoon too.
I've been off work since 31 weeks, as per doctor. So I've had lots of time to spend with friends, family and getting things ready. Very blessed! Although i do miss work. I hadn't made any big plans for June, assuming LO would be an early arrival as doctors anticipated.
So now, between date nights a couple times a week with DH and friends, freezer meals and probably some unnecessary shopping, we wait...
Hubs just got home for the day, but he's totally wiped. I'm hoping after he gets a nap we can go for an aimless drive, I like roadtripping (even when there is no destination) and its a frickin lovely day
We have to resort to the exact same kind of fun! Lol
I'm kinda hoping my OB suggests we get this show on the road, sooner rather than later.
MIL had a dream last night that today was the day... That's got to mean something right? Right? Anyone..... Haha
2nd round exp 8/20/18.
We're doing a double date Friday night with my best friend and her new bf. It's an outdoor movie showing at a park--picnic style. Here's hoping that my lawn chair, folding ottoman, mister, cooler, and ice packs keep me comfy in this 85 degree heat!
This feels kind of like a last hurrah.
Here's one plan Id like to have happen before this baby comes......
I would like to be headache and migraine free for the next week and 3 days...........
Hmmm maybe I need a massage...
*side eye DH*
Are you gonna lay on tummy or on side for this one? I think I may be too big for the tummy hole...
I hope your not too big for the tummy hole!!!! I did a side lying one very early on 20 weeks ish and it wasn't as enjoyable. Felt ticklish! @Westypet
You DO need one. Now is the time!!!
Maybe a manicure would do the trick!
