There's nothing embarrassing or regrettable about our conception story, but damn, it's still private. I can't understand why anyone would want details, or feel like they have a right to ask questions.
The most awkward comment came from MIL. On our anniversary she said "I bought you guys a card game because you have clearly done everything else so you might be bored." Gee, thanks. It was so awkward we just stood there in shock. :-w

Seriously...did she expect you guys to still be working on third base or what?
@heidiiwa my mom had me at 42. People were constantly asking if I was a surprise, and @afieds my parents divorced when I was one and my dad never lived with us that I remember and unfortunately was pretty uninvolved. I promise I'm not too screwed up. I kid. My mom was my best friend and will always be my hero. You'll be great!
So my dh and I have been together for 12 years married for 5 and people ask us if our baby was planned. Umm duh, you think after 12 years we just had the first oops? I just look at them and say seriously? But it for sure isn't anyone's business. Most people say it's about time or did you guys have to try for a long time? No we didn't we just went off of bs in april and we're told 1-2 years because of the bc I was on. I always said that I wasn't sure kids were for me because I learned after being with dh for a few years people get all up in your business and if you say you aren't a kid fan they leave you alone. One co-worker who seriously I didn't even know her name asked when we were having kids when we were getting married. My response was 'wow way to ask super personal questions to someone you don't know, whatever happen to friendly conversations about the weather?' Most people do not ask me, because they know I will be super catty and call them out on their lack of etiquette. Who cares if it's planned or not! The only thing people should care about is how loved your baby is and how much joy and happiness you can bring into its life.
