ultrasound worries

Ok mama's I'm 16wks 3days Just had an ultrasound last fri due to pain I was having, and docs office just called me and said that they had looked at my ultrasound and that it seems that the placenta is growing into the uteran wall referred to as "placenta acreta" and are sending me for a level 2 ultrasound on wed the 3rd. Anyone been through this or know what this means? They told me to take it very easy and try not to worry too much. But how do you do that when you don't know what Any of it means and they won't explain anything till you see the doc. How do you not worry when it sounds like all bad news? ! Sorry about all the previous typos my mind is racing and I didn't even consider to check it before I posted it. I'm sure you can understand what that is like. Also Please if you don't have anything other than criticism to offer then please refrain from responding. I have enough on my mind. Thank you in advance. !!!

  • I think you might need to spell check that because if I read it right, I don't see the problem lol. Your placenta is supposed to grow into your uterus..

This is not meant to be rude, but I really don't understand what you're trying to say. This post may need to be edited to get it to a point where we can be more helpful.
  • Just take it ratty, like your dr says. Don't listen to Amy.

Your placenta is supposed to attach and grow into the lining of your uterus. My friend had a condition where it grew through the uterine wall and attached to her bladder..I believe it was called placenta accreta. Is that what they discussed with you? She had lots of ultrasounds and a c-section at 30 weeks. The earlier it is caught, the better it is managed from what I understand.

OK, I'm taking a shot here, and I'm not being snarky, I just want people to be able to understand your question. Let me know if I'm off.

OK, mamas, I'm 16 weeks 3 days. Just had an ultrasound last Friday due to pain I was having and the doctor's office just called me. They said they looked at my ultrasound and that it shows that the placenta is growing into the uterus, and they are sending me for a level 2 ultrasound on Wednesday the 3rd. Anyone been through this or know what it means? They told me to take it easy and try not to worry. But how do you do that when they don't know what any of it means other than it sounds like bad news?
  • I will say I'm baffled how easy made it to ratty. Auto correct fail?
  • I'm truly sorry you are going through this. It sounds scary. I don't have any experience with or knowledge of this condition, but I would suggest you either ask your doctor for a more detailed description of what they are checking for or, at the very least, consult a reputable pregnancy book.

Must have been serious auto correct problems I'm sorry and I didn't take what you said as snarky at all thank you for clarifying for me as it seems other people would rather make fun of some spelling errors instead of asking me to clarify what I said. Thank you for being helpful!

Thank you for your insight I appreciate your knowledge very much so. Thank you again
  • Yes, there are different levels. Accacreta, increta, percreta. Patients usually have to get an MRI/advanced imaging to confirm. Accacreta is the best of the three (attached deeply in uterine wall, increta-through uterine muscle, percreta- through uterus and into surrounding organs such as bladder). I have seen the surgeon able to scrape off the placental attachment in accacreta and save the uterus. The other two usually mean a C-Hyst (take out uterus immediately after c section). It's a lot to think about. Can be falsely diagnosed. Hoping this is the case for you, and further testing proves otherwise....
  • My last pregnancy I had a percreta (attached to my bladder). I had an awesome OB who took his time and saved my uterus. I had to be on bed rest for 4 months and delivered at 36 weeks. I am pregnant again now and my OB is planning on delivering me at 34 weeks because I am starting to have some of the same problems. I will know more in 3 weeks. Until then I have to take it easy. Good luck and try not to stress.
  • Just take it ratty, like your dr says. Don't listen to Amy.

    Still laughing ...

Now that we know what your condition is/entails I am really sorry to hear about it and wish you the best at your 2nd level scan. I hope you update us on your results.

There is a lot of support on these boards but unfortunately when most people can't understand your post it's hard to get it. Blaming it on autocorrect doesn't make it better - I use TB solely from my phone, but I take the time to go back and re-read/correct my grammar. I think it's just common courtesy for everyone to do the same, and shows you are serious/investing time here, and others will follow suit by investing time in you with support and helpful responses.

    Again wish you good results.
  • Oh my gosh! Common courtesy? We all have very busy lives and If she didn't have time or think to check her spelling who cares! She's in a very high anxiety spot and probably pretty emotional. Let's all just be supportive instead of picking her apart for her post errors. We now know what she meant now and she doesn't need a speech.
