I am due around Thanksgiving and am a FTM.

My DH & I 100% agree on a boy's name! Cooper. Any good middle names that go with Cooper?

And I fell in love with a girl's name, and have to convince DH. Theda Grace. I think it sounds so elegant! Theda Bara was a silent film actress, but I really found the name in a book I read. Pronounced "thay-duh."

Thoughts?

    How can Cooper and Theda even be in the same thread? I can get behind Theda, but please reconsider Cooper. Cooper is a baby name. It doesn't age well at all. Please don't use Cooper.

    Not knowing (or ever hearing the name) Theda, I would have pronounced it Thee-duh.

    Theda is pretty! I read it They-da before looking at the pronounciation, but be prepared to pronounce it correctly to people.

    Not a fan of Theda. As mentioned it sounds like the Greek letter Theta. Or it sounds like you have a lisp and were trying to say something else.

    Cooper is all last name and dog to me.  I don't think it sounds like a strong adult name at all. I can imagine Coop being a frat bro and then not much after that.

    Theda is really nice and different, maybe work on the spelling of the name so that you wont have to correct people all the time?

    Theda is pretty cool. I pronounced it correctly on the first try. I don't hate Cooper as much as everyone else, but it is very trendy sounding and a little goofy. What about Calvin?

    I like Theda ok, but agree it will probably get mispronounced a lot. Maybe Vada instead? Basically the same thing.

    I'm not crazy about Cooper. Connor instead?

    Cooper is fine. I don't love it or hate it. I've never heard Theda but I really like it. I pronounced it correctly because it made me think of Veda. People will mispronounced it but I feel like that happens with most names these days.
