September 2015 Moms

I already miss my wedding rings...

Has swelling/ weight gain taken the rings from anyone else yet? I also have a terrible ring thing where if they get mildly tight I panic they will get stuck. I had a ring get stuck on my finger really badly as a child and obviously the memory still haunts me lol. Anyway, my tiny little baby fingers are swollen, and thankfully they don't yet LOOK swollen- but my rings are no more.

What has pregnancy made you tuck away? *Fav bra, pair of shoes, vodka (lol) or anything?*

Re: I already miss my wedding rings...

  • My wine and most of my shoes. I had to tell my work that they just have to deal with me wearing open toed shoes because my flats just are not an option any more. Lol

  • Yep my rings are waiting patiently on my bedside table for September!

I haven't worn a wedding ring in ages, even though I'm married. I wear stacking rings rather than a traditional diamond ring but just hadn't been putting them on, totally slipped my mind. My feet look a little swollen today but not my fingers so they may still fit.

I have put away my Bock (beer) and my home business and ugly clothes. I didn't really have cute clothes before getting pregnant. I was in "transition" clothes while losing weight so it was cheap, ugly crap from Walmart. Can we say "frump mom"?!. But I just tossed them all in thrift bags the other day and I bought some cute stuff I can wear now and after baby is born. Still building my wardrobe but it's a start.

Sometimes putting something away is a good thing! Looking ahead to the future.

My wedding rings are actually too big. They've been big because I lost weight then got pregnant so I didn't want to get them re-sized in case my fingers got bigger but they haven't. So I wear my rings only when I know I won't be moving my hands much because it's a pretty expensive ring and I don't want to lose it.
  • So so sooooooo sad that I had to give up high heels!!!!!!!! Omg and I miss alcohol and being buzzed!!!!! Lol I miss my cute jeans! And my sexy shirts!!!!! Flats are starting to hurt, so pretty soon I'll be wearing flip flops to work as well and dare them to say anything!

My rings and any kind of "real" shoes!!! My hands and feet are already swollen so no rings and only flip flops for this girl!!

@Knottie00400192 I still wear high heels when I go to events. Going to a wedding today and wearing some but going to keep a pair of flats on standby in the car lol
  • Yep, I gave up my rings a month or so ago. I bought a cheap band at Walmart cause my finger felt naked and cause a woman commented loudly to her daughter about how women who get pregnant when they aren't married are immoral and going to hell.
  • Wearing heels and sexy underwear. ;-)

Ive not been able to wear my rings since 2013 when I was pregnant with dd2.
My knuckles never go back down to regular size until im done nursing ... and we were not quite done when I ended up pregnant again in January :)
So I do miss wearing them! I was looking forward to putting them back on again

Oh yeah, I stopped wearing my wedding ring around 12 weeks because I was nervous about it becoming too tight and having to have it cut off. I bought a cheapie $20 ring and band to wear until baby is born and all the swelling goes down :)
  • Rings still fit! They didn't through my entire first pregnancy, so we will see how long I last this go-round. Luckily I have a tattoo where the band goes so I don't feel quite so "naked" without them anymore ;)

  • I've recently noticed some puffyness in my fingers :( I can't wear my pandora rings that my mum bought me for Christmas because they either won't go past my knuckles or when they do they get stuck lol
  • Yep, heels and sexy underwear are gone here too...my bump is SUPER low so all my underwear are too small because the bump takes up too much space. I have a ring tattoo too at @jbettles. @missliz53- what the heck is with that woman? Did her fingers not swell at all during pregnancy? Way for her to jump to conclusions AND be closeminded.

My husband has a ring tattoo on his wedding ring finger. He hates rings because they bother him when he plays guitar.

  • We got matching ones because we both like rock climbing and a lot of activities where you can't wear rings. Totally understand.
  • My rings still fit, but I also have a weird thing about anything even remotely tight on my fingers?!?! My friend had to have her wedding ring/band CUT off of her at the ER while pregnant....I won't wear mine now because she said it just happened one day. I would freak out!
  • Yeah, I haven't been able to wear my rings since week 12! I immediately swelled up. It's terrible. They're so pretty. And we haven't even been married a full year yet. I think I wore my ring for a total of 3 months

  • I have three rings in my wedding set, and i was down to wearing just the band but this week its been nothing. I'm going to get a sterling silver ring with a cz a size or so up so I can still wear one. I have no problem with having babies outside of marriage, but I'm married and proud that I am! So the looks bother me when people think I'm just some young knocked up thing.
  • Mine are still fitting but they bother the crap out of me when I'm hot and also at night so I take them off. Last pregnancy I ended up just wearing my band for a few months but this time they are soddered together so it's not an option :(
  • My rings have been gone a while now, so instead of missing them, I bought a ring in larger size in the September birthstone (sapphire). People can still tell i'm married, and I'm not wearing and uncomfortably tight ring.
  • I have my grandma's wedding ring, and fear it getting stuck on, so I haven't worn in since 17 weeks.. I have some random ring that was too big pre-pregnancy in my purse, and tried to put it on yesterday, and, while it fit, would be too tight by the end of the day, so it's in the jewelry box. My fun undies, my stockings, my boots..the boots hurt my feelings the most. I love my cowboy boots, and now, I look at them with disdain.

I have not had my ring on since the beginning and I miss wearing it! I also miss my shoes! My feet are so swollen that I only have one pair of flip flops that fit!

After reading this I'm super thankful to be able to still wear my rings, my heels, and my sexy underwear
  • We just got married a two weeks ago. I only have a band, I did not get it sized, I will do that after my little man gets here. So in the meantime I can swell a bit :-)
My other rings all still fit, but shoes are a problem. All my old clothes are in boxes at the moment, we moved at the start of the month and decided not to unpack my clothes from last summer. Go figure!

  • When we bought my wedding band, we accidentally purchased a too-large band. I never sized it because I knew this day would come...

Also, I have THE BEST sexy matching bra/undies wardrobe. I used to wear this wardrobe exclusively as "clothes" around the house. Literally used to never wear anything other than sexy bra/panties. Mr. Barrelocarol liked it. ;)

Now, I can only wear them standing up. Sitting down causes bulges, wedgies, tightness, panting...it's not sexy anymore.
  • I had to remove my rings with my first two kids, but this time I'm having the opposite problem. It seems like they are too big now! I had lost a lot of weight pre-pregnancy, never re-sized my rings, and they still fit up until a couple months ago. It's so weird! I take them off sometimes because I'm afraid of losing them, but my hubby doesn't like when I don't wear them.

I put my rings on a necklace with my first two babies. They actually make necklaces especially for this reason now (though any chain will do)!
  • So sadddddd!!! I've only been married a year and it doesn't seem fair that I can't wear my rings already. I'm due in September and I am still fighting the swelling. My band fits some days but my engagement ring does not fit. I can squeeze it on some days but I don't think it's worth it anymore. Maybe I'll buy a fake band like some of you did.

I took my rings off yesterday!  I miss them so much already as well! I had to put them back in the box and away, so I won't keep wanting to put them back on.   :(
