Nipple shields

When I was in the hospital a nurse told me I would need a nipple shield so I've been using one for the past 5 weeks. I was having issues with my supply and my LO was having issues gaining weight so we saw a lactation consultant. She basically said that since LO wasn't gripping the breast directly the shield could have contributed to the issues.
I just wanted to let you guys know! I hope no one else is having these issues.

    When I was using a shield, my LC told me I also had to pump to give my breast stimulation they needed to get me to continue to produce.
