Hello (^v^)
I'm happy to be able to post now, I have been lurking for a little while and I really like the feel of this community.
I used to be on other TTC and such boards before. But never really found my place, even after years. For example I'm not a huge fan of trying to share a story or concern and all I get is baby dust thrown at me.
I know people mean well but I see baby dust as the same thing as getting told "just relax and it will happen".
So yes I really like the attitude of this forum so far ^.^
Since right now is a very important part of my life for me and also a time where I could use people to talk to, people who understand. I figured I would try and join, hopefully I will fit in well.
Here is our story so far:
I am 28 and my husband is 32. We have been TTC our first child for over three years. Since December 28, 2011. In December 2013 we went to our first fertility specialist appointment. After getting poked by needles more times than I can count and many other tests the diagnosis was:
Me = Mild PCOS and husband = Very low count and motility. After more tests he was diagnosed with a varicocele vein, and after the procedure to fix it and a few months his sperm count and motility went up a little bit, but not enough unfortunately.
So the most viable option for us is IVF. After a few months of waiting (yay 50 day cycle) I am finally on the pre-IVF cycle, I started the birth control pill yesterday. And will be starting metformin soon. And Next cycle I will undergo a modified IVF cycle, with ICSI. That should be around end of June or start of July.
Sorry if that was long, I wanted to give details but I tried not to be too much. Hopefully I get to meet some of you who are going through the same thing or similar.
Small about me section: I am a huge geek, love video games and board games. Love reading especially fantasy books. Love movies, like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings and Marvel movies. I enjoy cooking and baking, and eat too many sweets. We have six cats, yes we are crazy cat people lol.
Nice to meet all of you. (*^▽^*)

But favorite game of all time...? Bioshock for sure. The best game I've ever played - the story blew my mind.
Oh hey! Glad to meet yet another nerd lol. I did not see tomorrowland but I saw Avengers 2 and really liked it!!
I also play Heartstone a lot! I am a huge fan! I just wish it would work better on my phone, how amazing would that be lol.

I played Guild Wars 2 when it first came out for a few months, it was a really really nice game. I stopped playing after all my friends left tho.
Bioshock is amazing!!!
And I lurk on twitch a lot too lol! I like to watch Heartstone on there actually it's really entertaining. And Heroes of the storm, helps me get better! My husband is amazing at this game but I am not so good lol.

Ooh I haven't been able to touch a Dragon Age game since the second one where they were too lazy to make unique dungeons. I actually loved the style of game but was never able to get past the dungeons being reused over and over.

I never got too much into MMOs, but I'm a huge Bioware fangirl (in case the screen name didn't give it away).
And FWIW, I agree with @Everycol0r , DAI makes up for the many failings of DA2.
I've also played a fair bit of Hearthstone, and I have a special place in my heart for strategy games.
If you ladies don't mind me asking.....
Favorite video game character (NPCs)?
Favorite video game romance?
Garrus is my favorite overall character....I'm sorry, let me rephrase that...., I'm FemShep and Garrus Vakarian is my favorite character in the Citadel.
But I adored the Alistair romance in DA:O. He's just so swoony and sweet. I got so excited for his cameos in the other games!

@FemShep thank you as well!
I never played any Dragon Age games! There is too many games in the world to try!! Maybe one day...
My favorite video character will always be Link. i played the original Legend of Zelda on my brother's SNES when I was like eight. And then Ocarina of time was one of the first games I ever played seriously and my favorite of all time. That is when I truly fell in love (♥ω♥*)
My favorite romance? I am not sure to be honest... I would have to think on that. It will probably be from WoW or Final Fantasy knowing myself...
Seriously I am so happy at all the geeky girls here!! It's realy nice to meet all of you!!

It is nice to meet people who understand! If you don't mind me asking... What kind of treatment are you doing?

So you are just on the meds and try at home then? We skiped that step I guess because of my husband low sperm count / motility. Even with IUI we had only around 5% chance.
How are your chances per cycle?

When me and my husband started NTNP. He and I did not live together yet (we started NTNP a few months before we moved in together) and sometimes we could not see each other during the fertile window and I always felt sad. (Of course then I did not know there was no chance anyway)

I'm glad you finally got tour period tho!! It's funny that something we ised to never want we are so happy to get. I got mine Monday after 50 days and I was really happy too.
Is it hard to track your O in a cycle like yours? Does you doctor monitor you at all? Or do you use O sticks at home?
