Reccomendation for none baby powder scented products?

So, I can't stand baby powder smell. It's always made me cough. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for product that don't smell like that. Much appreciated!

  • I'm looking for shampoo. I don't think we are going to use baby powder.

We're going to use California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo (you can find it at Target). My friend's kids got rashes from Johnson & Johnson and Aveeno, but did great with California Baby.
  • I also hate the smell of baby powder.
  • My friend just told me that Honest orange & vanilla shampoo smells amazing. I haven't tried it yet but I plan to.

  • I hate baby powder smell too. We use aleva naturals lavender hair/body wash, or Dr Bronners almond Castile soap. And just straight coconut oil for skin cream.

The honest company have some safe products that smell great as well as a product at walmart called shea moisture that we use. It's amazing! A little more spendy, but all natural and smells good too!

I really have liked aveeno. We like the lavender one best.
  • You can use arrowroot powder instead of baby powder. Bob's Red Mill sells large bags for around $5 & if you put it in a clean salt shaker, it's just as convenient as baby powder. Johnson's makes lots of shampoo/body washes that don't have the baby powder smell. Their Oatmeal Vanilla is especially nice and great for sensitive skin.
  • ^^Gotta love multitasking products!
  • You can go all natural and use arrowroot. Some people don't even use powder and just air dry the private areas. I find air drying more effective and prevents rashes than using powder. I stopped using powder when my oldest was 4 months and never used it since.

I don't really think that johnson's smells like powder. And I love the smell of Aveeno
  • There is a cornstarch version of baby powder that has a lighter smell, but I remember thinking I could still smell it. My son's pediatrician actually highly recommended not using powder, I still did lol.
  • I also can't stand the smell of powder!! I actually started using men's deodorant YEARS ago because it smelled 'clean', and not like 'flowers/powder'!! ;) Plus, I swear it works WAY better than women's. Lol. I have converted many friends.
  • You can just use cornstarch. Burts Bees makes a baby powder using cornstarch, for $8 a bottle! I say skip the artificial fragrance and crap they add and just get a box of starch at the grocery store!
