Have you guys seen this?? Josh Duggar molested 5 girls when he was a teenager. 4 of them were his sisters (obvious from police report)!!

There goes my guilty pleasure TV show. I feel so bad for those girls.

All families have skeletons. Those who try to portray a perfect image have the most.

Also. No way in hell the trooper who gave him a "stern talking to" getting caught with kiddie porn is coincidental. Jim Bob took him to someone he knew would never press forward on charges against him.

Also when victims were all interviewed they either didn't remember it happening (while they slept or too young, it was years after) or that it happened but nothing has happened since. Because it was so far in the past and no victims said things happened recently (most were his sisters so who knows if it's true or they were told to not say anything) he wasn't charged.

....I think it happened in 2002/2003. so 06' would have been teh last year to press charges. Jim Bob waited a year before taking Josh to "talk" to the police, and then the trooper they talked to did not pursue charges.

Said trooper is now in jail for kiddie porn.

This is brutal on so many levels. I feel for the girls, I'm horrified that it was so mishandled in the first place, and that it was hidden for so long. I've watched 19 Kids for the past 3 seasons and will give it up now. What a horrible thing.

I also wonder if him doing this is because he was a victim himself, since most young people who are the abusers were abused themselves. It's just a sad world we live in.

WTF?! I have watched that show for years. I mean I know no one is perfect and that there has to be some weird stuff in a family that size but sex crimes?! I never really liked Josh but I wouldn't have guessed that. So pissed!

True, he was only 14, right? The whole thing is so sad

Not yet 14 when he was caught and it seems he had been doing it for awhile before the parents found out.

Hugh Hefner grew up in an extremely rigid religious home, where his mother never touched him, and look at him now.

Honestly I'm not surprised at Josh ' s actions as a 14 year old in the environment he grew up in. We're they wrong? Yes 100%, surprising, nope.

They have always seemed "too perfect" but this is just kind of insane. Josh isn't one of my favorites but guess there goes my guilty pleasure show. I bet it will get canceled anyway.

I hope he doesn't do these things to his kids.

It's pretty horrible for everyone involved. This should have been dealt with years ago when it was found out. I feel for the poor girls having to relive everything because the press wanted to dig up dirt. Maybe proper education on sex and appropriate behavior when those kids were younger might have prevented it from even happening. Prevention through proper education and mental health support!! Also tlc should cancel the show or remove him from it.

Woaaaaaah! As much as I can say I'm surprised though, I'm actually not. You have a family that large with that strict of beliefs and there's bound to be some scandal embedded in there somewhere.

That sucks for his family, but honestly I stopped watching once Josh got the job with the Family Research Council. They can practice whatever religion or beliefs they want, but when it leads to him running campaigns against gay rights, I just can't support it.

So, I understand the concern for his children, but I'm hesitant to assume he will act on them. There are a ton of studies that show that juvenile sex offenders can be rehabilitated and the relapse rate is way lower than adult sex offenders. So I have hope, however it seems as though he didn't actually go to a program that could rehabilitate him, so maybe my hope is misplaced.

That being said, it is absolutely horrible. I can't believe that they kept it a secret and didn't go to the police. I understand the desire to protect your children, but in this case you are doing this at the risk of the mental health of your other children!!! I don't care if he apologized, they should know that he gets more than a slap on the wrist and that their PARENTS, not some random person, turned him into the police. As a sexual abuse survivor, I'm appalled.

This makes me really sad because it is probably more common than we all think. I agree with pp's that in a family with such strict beliefs they will try to cover up 'skeletons' that will tarnish their image even if it means the safety or mental health of their own loved ones

I do agree with this. I have a close friend who tried to have sex with his sister and a same sex classmate when he was between ages 5 and 8. Very obvious he was sexually abused himself. He was disciplined but no one looked into why he did it, and he would have been too young to remember it. He actually did not engage in sex until he was married because he was afraid he was a freak. It wasn't until he was older he realized his actions were because he himself would have been abused and it wasn't him that was "bad". He never abused anyone else after the two incidents when he was a young child.

I interned at an organization that did group therapy with sex offenders. I would read their files and go to their meetings. Almost every one of those guys were sexually abused, and they were adults. Granted, it's a small sample size, but studies show that most sex offenders were abused themselves.

Also a survivor, from my bio dad. It wasn't until after my Grandmother died that I learned of her mental instability and the abuse she did.

Oh, no, praying the sin away doesn't work unless you are working on it too. Hands down. I read somewhere that he got counseling, but I've only read that one place so I don't know what kind or how accurate it is. It's questionable.
