I have been smoking Cannabis now and then because it is honnest and for true the only thing that helps me keep food down, I have tryed small portions of food, i have tryed the pills prescribed by my Midwife, nothing worked but having a small hoot now and then and I can eat like no tomorrow and the food stays down, I feel conflict doing it though because ny Midwife says it cuts off nutrients to my baby but wouldn't not eating and or not keeping food down be worse?
Also i am scared she will report it to CFS and I will loose my child over a simple matter of using a plant to help me keep my food in my stomach...
Should I quit and rough through it, or continue to do what i am doing and tell my Midwife I have stopped.?
Re: Cannabis for the queezy
For your sake, I would stop smoking. They can report you to social services and get them involved after the baby is born if you are using during pregnancy, even if it is just Marijuana
If you really have to continue using cannabis as a way to help, which it certainly does in ways I cannot describe, try boiling it as a tea instead. However I urge you to find maybe some sess or something as natural as possible to avoid those serious chemicals.
Marijuana is natural and great but it's all chemically enhanced so be careful just like with anything else we are putting in our bodies at this time.
God bless
I'm not against pot in general, but smoking it can deprive baby of oxygen & slow growth. It's also not proven what effects the bud can have on brain growth & other structures for the infant later. Like tobacco (also "just a plant") the adverse effects aren't worth the risk for me personally.
Baby takes all nutrients from you. So while malnutrition is (obviously) not encouraged it's not terribly worrisome. The dehydration is a factor as well. If you truly can't keep liquids down you should tell your OB or midwife. That is more serious than the food issue.
If your provider suspects any illegal drug use they can order a drug screen on the infant at birth. They can also ask for hair samples from you. So even if you were to quit tomorrow it takes 6-8 months for the hair to shed enough for those test to come back clean.
Legally, in most states, if you pop on the drug screen or baby does, then it's grounds for the state (CPS) involved.
I would stop. Not just for the health of my fetus, but because you don't want to fool with CPS.

I live in Washington too. Just because its legal does not mean it should be done while pregnant. Alcohol is legal too. Doesn't make that safe. Anything that alters your state of mind should not be done during pregnancy.
Smoking pot during pregnancy may affect the growth of your baby and the development of the baby's nervous system.
That midwife should not be telling her clients that smoking pot is acceptable.
However don't let a bunch of unmeducated people guilt you.
Being able to eat is of utmost importance! Stress is bad for baby.
Vape if you can, but I'd avoid edibles as the dosage is tricky at best. You know hour body and the difference between relief and just getting fried.
Be open, honest and forthright with your doctor, get a second or third opinion if you must and don't be surprised if you are forced to stop use in the event that you are required to by law in your state to avoid cps etc.
A few of my friends ate pot brownies a few times during their first trimesters to stimulate their appetites and their kids were just fine. Almost all of them excel today.
You're inflicting an unnecessary, foreign substance on a growing brain.
Cannabis sativa is perfectly safe for an adult brain. It's probably pretty safe for an almost-developed teenage brain too. But your baby's brain and organs are growing and developing and what is safe for you might not be safe for her. It's the same reason I don't TOUCH tylenol, even though they "say" it's safe... I don't agree with that. It's a painkiller. It has an effect on the nervous system. Period.

Pot =/= depression medication.

Yes hence the rest of my post. I'm not familiar with that publication you mention. It was a german series of studies a few years ago but I can try to drum them up. It also stressed occasional and light use. Nowhere did I say chronic use. Also, as the rest of my post clearly states, I don't believe in putting any drugs up against a developing human system. I realize it's hard on readability to quote an entire long posts but maybe even reading the whole of what I wrote would have saved you some effort.
