Trying to Get Pregnant

Tell me your fav brand of pee stick!

Isnt it almost laughable how pricey these pregnancy tests are?! It's almost like these companies can smell how desperate I am for a BFP! Anyway, tell me your fav stick brand, I figure if I'm going to be shelling out the money for it then I might as well buy some popular ones! Thanks :)

Wondfos from Amazon. They are cheap cheap cheap...I feel less guilty about poas so much. I think the popular opinion is confirming with a First Response Early Result.

I started with FRERs and switched to wondfos and sure predicts when I started testing like a maniac.

On the subject of tests, has anyone noticed that there are often boxes that have been opened at Walmart and used tests in the bathrooms? I feel like I've seen that at least 3 times. I remember there was even one in the Christmas aisle on top of some ornaments last year. It was negative thankfully! Who does that?!

Edited for spelling and to add that I would never wish a negative test on anyone! Even someone who steals one from Walmart then leaves it for everyone to see :)

I like peeling in a cup because I know the day that I do get a BFP on my wondfo I can leave it on the counter and run the to store to grab 4-5 other tests (FRER with the pink dye and digital for sure) and then just dip them in there. No need to use later in the day urine or wait until next morning.

Same here! When I got my bfp with my son I did this exactly. 17dpo and it was incredibly faint but was still able to use my fmu to confirm on a digi

I never thought of that! That is a great idea. I would probably keep the frer tucked away at home somewhere tho personally cause I would be worried about someone (like my fiance's 2 sons) finding my pee cup.

How early before the "missed period" can the Wondfos predict a BFP?  I've been using FRER because it was the only one at the store that advertised 6 days before missed period.  (Although if you read the paper inside it's only around 65% accurate that early.)  The others were less than 5 days, while the Dollar Tree tests were not advertised to show a BFP until the day after the "missed period."

I believe Wondfo's and FRER measure the same amount of HCG (25 something per something)

  • Stupid question for everyone - do you have to use a pee cup for Wondfo OPKs or can you just pee directly on them?

I pee in the wrapper. I didn't want to keep wasting cups and I didn't like the idea of rinsing them out in the sink, so this was my solution. Just make sure you take the silica gel packet out first! It's not that hard if you bend the wrapper the opposite way it's originally folded so it stays open on its own like a cup.

To answer the OP's question, my favorite brand is the cheapest brand! I use Wondfos from Amazon (came with LH and HCG strips). If I get a positive, I will test with a FRER or digital.

  • I use very very generic dip sticks from a website the name of which literally translates to '123hometesting'. Apparently they are the same kind most Dutch GPs use. They're 1.60 euros each, but they get much cheaper very quickly the more you order (if you get ten they're down to 60 cents each).

If I get a BFP I'll probably still run to the store to get a more expensive one, though (and keep my initial cup of pee for that like PPs have said).
