Caffeine Alternatives

Help needed. My lactation specialist warned me of passing caffeine to the baby through breastmilk. I limit myself to one cup of iced tea a day, but with a one month old....I'm exhausted. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternate forms of energy?

Vitamin C or B12 and as crazy as it sounds exercise! although your tired at first it will leave you feeling energized after your done. (Also I drink a cup of coffee pretty much every morning and this has never been an issue , not with my first or now with my second (I'm an exclusive BF as well had DS1 on the boob till 2!!)) You could also try switching to green tea or half -caff coffees :)

I was told 2 cups of coffee is fine. By both LC and pediatrician. Is this not true?

Depends on the kid if they can tolerate caffeine

I drank coffee throughout my pregnancy... I noticed baby was extra colicky-like when I drank too much caffeine (mainly in sodas that I hadn't thought of) her second and third week. I just cut to one glass of coffee and caffeine free other drinks. It really depends on your baby and how LO reacts.
