Infertility

My Intro - Hi Everyone

Hi all,

I'm new here, thought I would introduce myself.  We've been TTC for 1 year, we've had 2 unsuccessful IUIs and we just finished an IVF cycle in April.  Did a fresh transfer then, unfortunately BFN.  Now in waiting mode for the side effects of the stim meds to wear off before we can do a FET.  Looking forward to chatting with you all!

I'm new to this community too. How long do you wait before your transfer? Do you need to do injections with a frozen transfer?

  • @jenishungry, I wish you luck. I hope this one is easier and has a better outcome for you.
We just completed our fet last month and I found it much easier than our fresh cycle last October. I think A, it was better because I knew the process and had become more comfortable with my doctors and their staff. B, the med regiment was easier on my body and my stress level. C, I didn't have to feel bloated and bulky from the overflow of eggs. And the most important part, no egg removal. I hated that more than the transfers!
The only thing that's worse this time around for me is that I have to do 2 progesterone shots a day in my back and not just the one.
@ambdtb, frozen and fresh are about a 6 week process before the transfer once your numbers are in range. You still do injections but I only had to do one injection a day as apposed to three a day for a fresh. The extra ones on a fresh cycle are there to help you load up on eggs like a hen.

  • @ambdtb, in all it will be about 6 weeks between my fresh and frozen transfer, assuming all the side effects of the meds have worn off by then.  I'm going in for an US next week, we will see if my ovaries are coming back to normal!  My doctor didn't prescribe any injectibles for the FET, just one trigger shot.  I will be taking some oral meds, doxycycline and prednisone.
  • Welcome! I hope your FET is a success! :)
