Diarrhea and sick @ 38 weeks.

I have had a cough for over a week  now to start off. The past few days I have had major diarrhea and last night ended up throwing up all over myself right before another round of diarrhea. I am having cramping in my stomach and a tightness in my belly. I am 38 weeks and the doctor still hasn't checked to see if I'm dilated or if baby is head down or anything, which I always imagined they would by now. I don't know if it is the flu or if it is worse and I don't know what to do. I have told them about me being sick and they gave me a mask and said they feel sorry for me. The only reason I am a little freaked is because my mom and a few other mothers told me they thought they had the flu with their pregnancy and they ended up being in labor 2 weeks early. Am I just being paranoid or is sickness like this normal?

    I have heard many people say they get sick like that right before labor.

    They day diarrhea can be an early sign of labor. Your body empties the bowel before birth. But I don't know about the other symptoms. Maybe get a 2nd opinion?

    I think you're just sick. It sucks. Stay as hydrated as you can and rest. If it is a sign that you're going into labor soon, then you'll, you know, go into labor. Nothing you can do but wait it out, rest up, and see what happens.
